The internet is currently chatting about how much weight Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson lost for an upcoming film role.
According to reports, the star lost an amazing 54 pounds for his upcoming movie “Things Fall Apart”.
In the movie 50 Cent plays a football player diagnosed with cancer. He dropped from 214 pounds to an astonishing 160 with a liquid diet and three-hour-a-day treadmill walks for nine weeks.
“I was starving.” Now he’s back on tour and says, “I’ve been eating. I’ll be back in shape in no time!”

i’m a little skeptical, but i hope 50′s movie is successful. my mother has cancer and you can’t begin to image the effects her illness has had on her body. if this movie shines more light on the struggle to live with cancer, then i’m all for it and 50′s success. continually praying for a cure for everyone suffering with this illness.

I’m sorry whoever is saying “he is not that skinny” are nuts. Yes we are used to him being pumped up (idk about steriods) but the camera ADDS 10-15 pounds!!!! so what you’re seeing is actually 10-15 pounds smaller in real life. 54 pounds is a considerable amount (especially from a muscluar frame) and we have NOT seen it gradually and so this is shocking. I hope this roll is good. he put the dedication into it. also he looks dehydrated, hungry, shunken faced, and bewildered in the eyes. this man went through somethings to get to that point.
I’m pretty sure they did something to the top of his head .. no way his head could be that big – even with the weight loss.

I disagree that this shows dedication. I hate hearing people say that…Just because you mutilate and/or completely physically alter your appearance for a role doesn’t mean you have extraordinary talent. It could mean you need to put more into the visual because you can’t make us believe with your acting IMO. I always cringe when people harp on what they’ve done. This is just as silly as Beyonce running her pie hole about losing weight for Dream Girls and gaining it for Cadillac Records and Jamie Fox announcing he’d filed his teeth for the role in the film about the schizophrenic violinist or the Wayans brother talking about losing so much weight to play in White Chicks or Hilary Swank losing weight to play in Million Dollar Baby (though it worked for her) or Halle going on an exacting protein diet for Cat Woman…the list goes on and on yet it only worked for one of these people. And she might have had an – ahem! ahem! – advantage all along.
Hilary gained muscle and didn’t lose weight. Sorry.

Whoever said that MOST ACTORS DON’T GO THIS EXTREME FOR A MOVIE ROLE, clearly doesn’t know much about actors! Actors and Actresses like Renee Zelwigger, Tom Hanks, and Christian Bale have STARVED themselves just for a movie role! George Clooney and Renee Zelwigger have gained A LOT of weight just for a role and then had to loose it! That sh** is not healthy at all and it’s a shame that people take movies that seriously. They should have gotten an actor who was already thin and made him look sick with makeup. Plus, 50 can’t even act!
