Actor/comedian Gary Coleman has died at the age of 42. We reported early Friday morning that the former Diff’rent Strokes star was on Life Support in a intensive care unit at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
He was hospitalized after hitting his head in a fall earlier this week and suffered a brain hemorrhage. He then went into a coma and never recovered.
According to NBC news, Gary died of an hemorrhage at his Utah home, surrounded by family and friends.
His manager spoke to the media early Friday shortly before Gary’s death and said:
He always has had fond memories of being an entertainer and appreciates his fans for all their support over the years.

According to reports actor/comedian Gary Coleman is currently on Life Support in a intensive care unit at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.
The former Diff’rent Strokes star was hospitalized after hitting his head in a fall earlier this week and suffered a brain hemorrhage. His manager, John Alcantar says his condition has progressively worsened and is asking for prayers and support in this tough time.
“As of mid-morning on May 27, Mr. Coleman was conscious and lucid. By early afternoon, Mr. Coleman was slipping in and out of consciousness and his condition worsened. We are saddened to announce that since mid-afternoon, Mountain Time, on May 27, 2010, Mr. Coleman has been unconscious and on life support.
He always has had fond memories of being an entertainer and appreciates his fans for all their support over the years. At this critical moment, we can only ask for your thoughts and prayers for Gary to make a speedy and full recovery.” [ SOURCE ]

Gary’s wife should have waited longer to pull the plug. At least give him a few more weeks. Something is just not right about this. How did he fall? If he was so sick he shouldn’t have even been alone to fall if his wife was there. He should have had a caretaker . Detectives need to investigate that wife. –For those talking about “why did they pull the plug so early”, sometimes there’s is n not an option for the family. If the head injury is severe enough and he’s showing no brain activity, then there’s nothing else that the family can do. The chance of people recovering from brain death is virtually none and even if they did, they may continue on in a vegetative state or suffer total loss of functioning if by some miracle they were able to re-gain consciousness. I don’t know about his relationship with his wife, but as a person who has been in that position, it’s not easy pulling that plug, but there’s no moral or biological reason to postpone the inevitable. In any case, RIP, Gary Coleman.
Yeah I loved Diff’rent Strokes growing up. I wanted to go visit that big ol’ penthouse they had. Plus I had a huge crush on Willis. I remember debating with my friend about who was better Arnold or Webster lol! RIP Gary & thanks for the laughs.
