Check out the trailer for the new NBC series Undercovers starring Boris Kodjoe and English actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw who return from years in retirement as re-activated CIA agents. Created by J. J. Abrams, the series will premiere later this year on Wednesdays at 8 ET.

Glad to see him working again.
looks mad corny
hhmm. not what i was expecting. i spose you can’t gauge all that much from a preview. but i hoping there’ll be less one liners and more gripping drama. sort of more like mr and mrs smith.
still love boris, though!
nice…looks like Hart to Hart for the new generation
Hope it’s good and lasts for a long while. I’ll definitely give it a shot.
@ SOMTO
YOU MUST BE OVER 30 LOL.
BORIS IS SO SEXY.
I’ll watch anything with Boris Kodjoe!
I’ll give it a shot but I dont know. Seeing as how the only programs I can stomach on that network are SVU and the Tonight Show. They should not have given this show to NBC based on the fact that it just doesnt fit. Then at the end of the promo they put “more colorful”. Seriously that just screams we need more of a diverse viewership. i means its good they are trying to expand the viewers and all but then again if there more colorfyl campaign flops its a waste of money and they just go back to there same awful line up.
Listen, I’m sick of watching murder shows, reality tv, stupid comedies, etc. give me a good show with a hint of humor, great locations and a black couple being loving and I’m all about it.
THANK YOU NBC! I will support this show! And on the days I’m not home, the DVR will be set!
Team Boris!
I feel like they showed the entire season in that 1 trailer, lol. What’s the point of watching? Aside from that I’m still upset that NBC CANCELLED LAW & ORDER and HEROES!!! 2 of my favorite shows….I HOPE THEY HAVE A GREAT FALL LINE-UP!!!
I think the the trailer was great! I’ll watch it…it has action, love, drama, and a good looking man! I’m in…Can’t wait until it comes to NBC. I just hope it last, we know how networks can be when black actors are starring in a series…here today, gone tomorrow.
It was like a movie trailer all wrapped with a nice happy ending…bizarre. I wonder how they will make it into an entire TV series.
So basically it’s a black ‘Mr. and Mrs. Smith’ made for TV…looks kinda dull, but I wish them luck simply for the fact that at least it’s starring people of color.
totally agree with 10 and 12 and i even came here to post the same comment. wtf? so from this trailer, we already know:
1. their marriage is missing the old flame
2. they’ve been retired CIA agents for 5 years
3. a CIA official brazenly walked into their place of business and reoffered them their jobs back
4. who they were sent to look for
5. said guy used to date the wife
6. what countries they went to look for him
7. the people they met along the way
8. the method they used to oust and kill the bad guys
9. the missing guy was found alive and returned safely to the US
10. they rediscovered the flame in their marriage in the course of the trip
um… so why would i still need to watch this show at all again?
WHOEVER MADE THIS TRAILER IS CLEARLY INCOMPETENT AND DESERVES TO BE FIRED
I THINK I LOVE THE NEW SHOW AND I LOVE BORIS KODJOE………….
Looks very promising.
Boris Kodjoe is just too fine.
I’ve never heard of Gugu before but she’s pretty.
I feel like I know everything from just watching the trailer .. but maybe there’s a lot more they didn’t add? Just maybe ..
It looked good up until the CIA or whoever guy met with them but I’ll give it a try.
I love it -definitely want to watch. You never see black actors taking on
roles like this better yet a series on NBC? Thats a good look.
Amen # 4 and 9…. some people have no clue !!
Team Boris….
For all saying they just told the whole storyline clearly know very little about TV promos. What they did was show you what happens in the very first episode. Why?? Because if it seems interesting enough you’ll watch the ENTIRE series. Trust…the true storyline of this will be their continued involvement in CIA work…hence being called UnderCovers, how things affect their marriage, and their future lives. They simply showed you the premise of the pilot (first) episode.
@ #7 EXACTLY! As long as Boris is in it I will be watching.
NBC: “More Colorful”
….except for our actors.
*hopefully we can continue to see more series with the inclusion of Black actors/actresses.
Gugu’s father is South African. She and Halle and Mariah and Alicia and Leona and Barack have so much in common.
JJ Abrams backin’ it it’s already got a shot …hell if 2 1/2 idiots or Big Nerd Theory can be in the top 5 shows every week then we can give it a shot no matter how much the trailer shows…
THIS looks very good!! Plus…They make a great looking couple!! I would watch this. Chica’s acting is pretty darn good… Major Dad is in it!!
BUT! This would have a selective audience… I do not need to break it down…
I CANT BELEIVE PEOPLE ARE COMPLAINING, WE NEVER GET THESE TYPE OF SHOWS, WHAT BLK SHOW DO WE EVEN HAVE ON REGULAR T.V.??? IM SUPER EXCITED TO WATCH…I CAN’T WAIT…FOR ONCE NOT JUST A COMEDY, SINCE THAT’S ALL WE CAN DO IS BE FUNNY… SOME OF YA’LL ARE SO FREAKING LAME…..
I agree with Moni. So sick of Realty TV. JJ. Abrams is behind Fringe and thats one of my shows. Ill give this a chance not many shows out there where two main characters are black. Hope it will last more than one season.
Nice to see Gugu again. For the uninformed, Gugu Mbatha-Raw played Martha’s sister in Doctor Who, she sounds weird with an American accent. Anyhoo, the trailer gives everything away, looks like some needs to go back to Trailers 101. I look forward to watching this at 2am Thursday morning, hopefully it will be worth it.
it great to see Black leading actors on a JJ Abrams show.. do you guys know how great this is.. the creator of Lost, Alias, and fridge, wow this is black empowerment… good to see positive black images in tv.
Hmmm,
Seems like it would be a great movie. But I don’t know if it’ll last long on TV.
Keep up the good work.
Sup with the NBC “more colorful” thing at the end.
Things to make you go hmm.
Wow! 2 black leads on a major network. Exciting!!! Looking forward to supporting it.
It looks like it could be a pretty good series if that trailer was ALL in the Pilot episode… 2 reasons the be hopeful.
1.They did return back to their home and regular life in 2 days. SO, they might be going 100% active after that ONE mission to keep their love flame alive.
2.There is still hope that all that we just watched is just setup to the series. Believe it or not that trailer could be from an hour show and that is just the introduction to meeting the characters and developing the storyline.
LMBO @ the “More Colorful” at the end! Could NBC (NothingButColorless) be more obvious.
Support Black TV and Movies!
Loved every moment of it! Drama, Suspense, Sensuality, BORIS! What more could we ask for? I will definately tune in …
say whhhaaat!? the black mr. & mrs. smith!!!! im going to support this!
HOW CAN THEY CALL THIS A TRAILER. I JUST SAW THE WHOLE FIRST SEASON IN 5 MINUTES.
BUMMER
Watch the dumb ass black folk complain about this show, and not watch it, then turn right around and complain that we aren’t represented on television in a normal good light like our caucasian cousins…
There is no pleasing black people because all the time the lip is out complaining about something, always complaining, and then when they get what they are asking for, they complain about that…
Who gives a fart if you seen alot of the show in the trailer, watch the damn show to send the execs message that this is what we want to see…think of the big picture. And believe it or not, you didn’t see everything, they just set the stage for you…plenty more to see obviously.
Secondly, stop complaining it looks corny…arent’ some black people corny…everybody isn’t smooth and full fo bullshyt.
Geez!
Looks like the black version of Mr and Mrs. Smith!
I CAN’T WAIT… SOMETHING LIKE THIS IS FAAAAAAR OVERDUE! THIS IS GOING TO BEAUTIFUL. AND FOR THE DICKHEADS THAT DOUBT IT??? CAN GO FUCK THEMSELVES! J.J. ABRAMS CAN’T GO WRONG AND YOU HAVE BORIS KODJOE???!!!!! I’M THERE!
i agree u jus cant please BLACK ppl.. GHEEZ ZUM BREAD….. we should be glad they took time out to bring out more diversity in the tv networks………
I’m really disappointed with some of the comments about this show. This program is a BREAKTHROUGH! A show where two Black people are leads, on a major television network that is not all shuckin’ and jivin’?!?!?!? You can bet I’ll be there to support it. I have no idea whether it will be good or not but I’m excited by the potential and will definitely tune in to see what it’s all about. I really loathe the term “haters” but that’s exactly what the people complaining sound like. I’m not saying you HAVE to love it. I’m just saying give it a chance and actually watch it THEN voice your opinion.
