The BET Awards Were Good. One Of My Favorite Moments Was The Monica And Deniece Williams Collaboration! Monica Looked Great And She Opted For A More Avant-garde Look, Wearing Alexandre Vauthier’s Couture Jacket. So Unexpected BUT It Was A Pleasant Surprise. Not Everyone Is Going To Like The Look ; That Is The Beauty Of Fashion. I Love The Fact That See Worn Something She Loved And Out Of Her Comfort Zone. Monica Is Such A Great Singer With A Humble Spirit…I Wish Her All The Best With Her New Single “Love All Of Over Me”
It was still a boring show to me, the highlights were T.I., Chris Brown, El Debarge, and Tyrese…and Alicia did okay too. The show was still missing something and I couldn’t figure out what it was. Although I love Queen Latifah I don’t think she added anything to the show, I think next year they should give Mike Epps a chance at hosting it.
The performances last night were just okay, nothing spectacular. Kanye came out there did his thing, (looking like a scene from the Ten Commandments) regardless I like the song. But did anybody wonder where he was the rest of the show? They never showed him after his performance…in fact, it seemed like his performance was pre-recorded, usually during the opening performance they always show the celebs sitting it in the audience, they didn’t do that this time so I find that interesting :/.
And Chris Brown was one of the best performances hands down. I’m so sick of everyone judging him about his past, like we have the position to. He made a bad decision, he was young, and now its time for him to get back to the music and he did that. He took the words of Man in the Mirror and really looked at himself, I think all of his emotion just overwhelmed him; it was genuine.
Oh yeah, Willow Smith…bless her heart, I wish her parents would let her dress like a little girl!

Jada wore panty shorts with her children and let them sing every disrespectful rap lyric while throwing hand signs. SMH. Jada is losing.
Minaj was WHACK and is clearly overrated.
Drake’s ugly as all hell with one of the worst hair lines next to Paul Pierce.
Chris Brown did his thing on the dancing and then when it was time to sing he was clearly hoarse because he tried to sing the first line. He quickly covered that up with tears (it was more sweat dripping than tears) and used the audience for the singing because he kept trying but didn’t have a voice. It had nothing to do with his emotions even though I believe he was emotional about being able to finally perform. In any event, he won the audience over. I SINCERELY BELIEVE THEY GAVE HIM THAT FAN AWARD JUST LIKE THEY GAVE RIYAWNA HER FAN AWARD. They were both up against acts that clearly have more fans than them (Bieber for instance) and they won? Yeah right, but it’s all good.
Overall though, the show was boring and wack. Cleo kept it poppin though!
Stand out performances were Chris Brown, Alicia Keys during the Prince Tribute, Monica/Denise Williams, and Tyrese.
Trey Songz was HORRIBLE. Keyshia Cole sounded HORRIBLE! I don’t remember Drake’s performance at all. Nicki Minaj was a HAM throughout the whole show. Um, Dirty Money was okay. I love that song.
J.Cole should have perfromed for way longer he is more talented than half that award show.
ANGEL…..Chris didn’t win the Viewers Choice award he won the fandemonium award.
Rihanna and Young Jeezy won the viewers choice award.

Is it just me or is Alicia Keys not that great of a singer as I thought she was? For the past 2 years she’s been having hit or miss performances with her voice. I think she’s overrated especially when she’s not playing the piano.

I feel bad for Kanye & Usher. They’re being overshadowed by you know who. Their performances were blehhh and definitely Kanye needs to try somewhere else for a comeback. Nobody is feeling it and MTV banned him so LOL what is he gonna do?
B.O.B needs to get himself a backing track like everyone else. I’m sick of him finding horrible replacements for the talented singers that sing his hooks. Haley Williams & Bruno Mars give me life on both songs. Keyshia Cole gave me nothing but a loud horrible screeching performance that nobody cared for. She looked ghetto as ever. I am so over her.
I saw Keri and thought she was Rihanna. I miss her old mushroom hairstyle.

Janelle Monae killed the Prince performance…I was like Damn, look at this little bitch goooo…I am now a fan and will be checking out for her music… And I liked Diddy’s performance eventho he urks me…Nicki Minaj did her thing. Drake irritates me tho…Something about him just says ‘fake’ all over…I loved El Debarge, and I was amazed on how good he sounded even after the whole crack era…He sounded like he did years ago…And the Gospel artists, I forget their names, but they can saang…They sounded better than half of them artists… Um, Keyshia Cole and B.o.B’s performance was um, I don’t know what to think….I have mixed feelings on that one. Eminem killed it tho…He was good. Oh and Monica and Deniece Williams were good too. But Monica looked like she was about to take off flying with them shoulder pads…Kinda reminded me of Batman…lol…Good show overall.
People need to stop it with I guess Jay-z and Beyonce didn’t have enough string to keep CB off the awards show. Some of you people reslly think that Jay-z and Beyonce have that much power. GET REAL! Chris’ performance can’t help but be fun and entertaining to any MJ fan who likes the songs and dances Chris picked, and the likeability in that naturally carried over to Chris. He and his people were counting on that and it worked. I wasn’t overwhelmed with excitement, but it was still a lot of fun.

I was watching Showbiz Tonight on HLN and one of the PR people they had doing commentary basically confirmed the Chris was taken off of last years show, because Jay Z said he and Beyonce would not be their if he was.

Queen: I like her, but not as a host.

Usher: His worst performance ever, I’m not really a fan but I’ve seen better from him. It was really blah.
Keyisha Cole: If she was going to come back, she should of just presented she looked and sound horrible. Not that she was ever a great singer. She lost the baby weight though.

to begin i will say the the BET awards was great this year!!! the new bs can learn a thing or two now i love music and im not gonna say what was bad because under those circumstances i have to aske myself would i be able to do better?? i dont know so im not gonna say ne thing too bad just the obvious.. best performance of the night is chris brown hands down. PPl say he was doing too much but no one can judge or determine how emotions flow or dont.I personally think that his performance was great and heartfelt. people have to realize that this young man made a mistake and he has time to change a be a better person. his tears were for mj no question but the performance itself and the song related to his personal life as well. he finally got a chance to hit the big stage in front of his peers and fans which he has been shunned for over a year from performing and doing what he loves to do which is entertain/ sing. i cant imagine if someone told me that i could not sing and shunned me from the mic. I literally leaped up off the sofa and jumped for joy when I saw El Debarge. OMG, I love that man! I have been rooting for him and wondering about him. I did not want him to stop. He was my highlight and I liked Tyrese tribute to Teddy Pendergrass and I loved just seeing Prince period! I hope next year they have more surprises and just more performances that will be memorable.

Chris Brown was absolutely amazing! Overall I think everyone did well this was a decent awards show for the first time in a while for BET.
I thought that Chris’s performance was a publicity stunt and it did not seem sincere. I was not impressed by it all. Michael Jackson was one of kind and it coward like Chris could never come close to the magic and presence MJ had on stage.
This year was better than last year’s. So for me its right up there with ’04 and ’05 BET awards. It was so many great performance’s that night that you forgot that Usher performed ( Agreeing with DarkAQua). I loved Kanye performance and I cant wait for the album. The only good Queen Latifah skit was with her and T.I ( she was alright as a host). T.I killed it and I’m waiting for a video for ” Yeah You Know”, honestly I couldnt watch Diddy perrformance, because the flickering lights wasa giving me a headache ( hell I cant even watch the damn video). I got tired of seeing Nikki every 30 mins she waas either performing or grabbing an award ( Ya’ll all knowe that she was going to win for best female, because lets keep it 100, she is the only female rap arist beside Trina out there right now)
Drake performance was weak. Do you know I love Love Jones and when they did the skit I was standing on bed yelling when Lorenz Tate was doing “Brother to the Night ( That man can get it). Not even going to speak about the MJ tribute you know what it was, you saw everybody else’s tribute, but his. Dont call it a comeback he been here for years, ya’ll left. He killed it, when they did smooth criminal with suits and the lights classic! The Teddy tribute ( Yes Tyrease can get it too).
El Debarge ( classic) he can still hit them notes, I was singing every song right along with him *singing* … and all this love is waiting for your, my baby, my darling. Disappointed in Trey Songz performance. Finally, the Prince tribute amazing! When A. Keys starting to climb on top of the piano… I was like no she aint serious…. yes she is serious! And that kept showing Prince reaction ( classic) and then Patti…..* getting up and starts clapping*. But did ya’ll notice that it was a all female tribute to Prince. I heard that Prince hand pick the people to do the tribute. Gary with a T on Rickey Smiley said that the reason why there was no males, was because nobody could have hot them high notes ( but I think El Debarge would have done a great job).
Chris Brown was supposed to have a meeting with Micheal the day he died for the dumb asses that think they know what he was not going thru. Of course it was a culmination of a lot of emotions and wtf are you to say it wasn’t real? If you don’t support him fine, but get the f over yourselves…God you are not.
Great show, and that side eye of Prince’s to Trey singing Purple Rain…priceless.

Queen Latifah was an ok host,I feel as though she was trying a little bit to hard.Monique has been the best host so far,and i wouldnt be mad if she came back as host again
Diddy-I really dont care for him too much,but I felt as though he woke the crowd up.Dirty Money might as well have been his back up dancers.Diddy we know who you are,No need to be up in the camera every 5 minutes
Alicia Keys-Looked beautiful pregnant and had a decent performance..but really??,was all that climbing over the piano needed
El Debarge and Tyrese did a great job.( I could have done with out all the panties being waved in the air)
Chris Brown- Did an amazing job performing and nearly had me in tears,But damn why did he have to break down and cry during my favorite M.J song.
Usher-was a bit boring,total snooze fest.
Trey Songz-I love you and all,but coming from an honest fan,that performance was horrible,You know you could have done better.And it looked as though you pissed Prince off

Finally, El Debarge….LOVE HIM!!!!!!! Everyone google Switch (his brother Bobbie), DeBarge, El Debarge, Chico, etc. He sounded like he did back in the day. His outfit was even throwback. I was going crazy. His start was a bit awkward. It was like he was taken by surprise. I don’t think anyone in the audience knew who he was at first. Anyhoo, he is gorgeous too. I agree that the Music Matters part did seem a bit desperate but I still love him and always will. lol!

I thought this was the best show of BET’s in years. Great performances. Great choices for presenters. My favorite performance of the night had to have been Chris Brown’s because I feel BET did not do a stellar tribute to MJ the way he deserved it. I feel Chris gave his all for MJ and that overshadowed anything in his past to me. It was not about CB, it was about MJ. CB did an awesome job. My surprise (man I loved it) performance had to be Eminem! He really showed some artists that they need to rush back to the studio and brush up on their skills becasue he KILLED it!
