Hold on, what do they mean by King Of America? Its funny how people in this industry tell you who they are or what they are instead of letting the People who buy their music and watch their videos tell them how they feel based on the artistry they created. How does an artist say, “I’m an ICON”, his wife. And Jay-z or RS (dont know) “King of America”. Hes been rubbing me the wrong way for a couple of years now, and I used to be a true Shawn Carter fan. I just got tired of his raps which talked about things he didnt even do anymore cause he didnt have to. And I definetely got tired of him cosigning on the wackness coming from his significant other. To me that Forever Young joint is foolish, and it just shows that he gets away with stuff like that cause of who he is. Thats corny to me and I dont roll like that. When somebody makes something hot, I will give it up to them cause its true. And when someone is really on their King and/or Queen biz, I will give it up to them aswell cause they doin it big like that and I can respect that whether I’m a fan or not. But enough is enough now, people need to wake up and leave this crap alone. Hes not King of nothing except what he owns. Keep it movin Shaun.

In the article, Jay-Z also talks about how much he likes indie bands. I want him to promote black indie bands like the all black South African band Blk JkS and the African American all female band Noon:30, and even the neosoul/rock singer Kimberly Nichole ps Kimberly does a great cover of The White Stripes Seven Nation Army. Jay maybe king of America because he has done a great job of changing the image of black female singers like Rhianna and Bey from once clean cut singers into couchie poppin video vixens that unfortunately are now the standard that all singers have to fall into if they want Grammys, money, and fame. I long for singers to use their great singing voice instead of selling sex and rappers to be more socially conscious especially when they get as old as Jay and hold the media’s attention like Jay.
I see many GREAT comments, but I will say it again. Until we (the consumers) demand more of our entertainers, they will give us what sells. Rap is the only genre of music where someone can brag about destroying whole communities and be considered a hero. When we stop buying that sort of image, some of the realities will change.

These white photographers and creative directors love to shoot his face up close for these magazine covers. They know what they are doing…he’s so egostical that he can’t tell that they are really f-ing with him when they do this.
