Great video. Loved it yestery. Love it today.
Wow – that was very “real”.
I wonder why there are no comments on this video? I bet if I go over to a Rihanna or Beyonce post comments are coming in like crazy. Goes to show this world we live in. Nice. smh
Any who, much love to the Roots for helping to keep REAL music alive.
Shytty keyboard. *smirk*
Youre so right lalalove but its their loss!
Man, i heard this song a couple weeks ago and LOVED it. The video is also great and real and not the typical video we see which means it probably wont be on tv unless its VH1soul or something.
Everything is connected so most of the younger people are on a completely different mind frame. They arent trying to think better, do better, or be better. its sad.
Matter of fact, someone from another post had no idea who Bilal was, lol. Hes not even that old.
Im not one to believe everything I read about these conspiracy theories but I do believe there is power in music and words and its no coincidence that music is in its’ current state.
People are walking around but their spirits are DEAD
This is so refreshing. Im glad artist like them never give up despite the fact that in reality, theyll never get the credit they deserve in this industry.
This is what we have come to as a generation. Things that matter are no longer important whereas things that are so meaningless are glorified. God help us all!
This is dope! He is a beast with the lyrics….
Amazing song and video. The Roots are such a prolific group.
I love the roots, one of Philly’s finest groups.
Such a great lyricst!
Mad love and respect for the Roots!
Love Good Music and LaLaLove: you guys are spot on about this being “good music” and people missing out on it. If this had been a video post about some rapper or female singer (no names required), that included a whole lot of ass-shaking and coochie-popping, profanity and vulgarity, this post would have garnered wayyyyyyy more comments/interest.
Great song and video…very real and unique. Yes, being real and rapping about relevant things in our society is something unique in today’s music industry.
this is HOT!!!
Hey JDakar I posted this yesterday. My girl said it came out a while back. IDK, the CD is AMAZING I HEAR. LOVE THIS VID LOVE BT. BB- has it for 7.99 while some other stores are placing it at 9.99. I love the Roots.
Thanks J Dakar
good music can never be a commodity! luv it!
* @lalalove – people cannot respond to what they choose not to understand.
this song was splendid.
I wonder how God would reply.
This vid is so real…questions many ask…but we have to keep our Faith until the end. Props to the Roots for keeping it real!
one of the best videos in a long time.. 10/10
Honest and truthful song!
It’s sad what this world is coming to, but thank God for the plan!
Rihanna leaves a club with her boyfriend and that crap gets over a 100 comments, I am so tired of these industry made up no talent having acts and were just to blame because we fall for that crap. Here you have a real band talking about something worth listening too and they won’t get any radio or video play such a shame.
@ #3- My thoughts exactly LalaLove- where are all the comments for this video- a really real message and no sign even of the haters- Goes to show uh! We pay so much attention to things we even believe is whack but feel to show up for the things we “act” like are important to us! Again: goes to show
smh!
Luv Loveed It!
This was an amazing video and an amazing song. The Roots, Dwele, Janelle Monae, Eryka Badu…these artist is what our youth need to listen to. Rhianna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce may be the “now” or the trend but its not real music. They are too “Enlightened” to see outside of their own darkness and what they are creating. The real artist wont be on 106 & Park of course with their videos being played because their “contract” does not allow them to. Stick with God, and everything will be fine. No more selling your soal to the devil for money or to wear all black and hide your eye from everyone else. Its not worth it. Dear God: love it.
The Legendary Roots Crew does it again. Superb lyrical content, excellent story line for the video, and of course a banging track. I hope that this record shines through the darkness of the weak rap records that are currently on the radio.
Respect,
E
this album is amazing. please go support good music. & i haven’t been able to get dear God 2.0 out of my head for about 2 weeks now.
