Now, that’s just the kind of ignorance right there that is the reason for most of these talent-deficient “artists” on the radio AND some underground. Just because an artist sold platinum doesn’t always mean they’re good or talented. Example: Mase went platinum, Chingy went platinum, Soulja Boy went platinum. NONE of them have any real lyrical skill, just catchy records. Just because someone ain’t platinum doesn’t necessarily mean that they aren’t good, it just means that there are those like you that hop on the bandwagon for the next big thing, whether it has s any real talent or not.
On another note, big ups to Drake for finally makin a decent rap single for his albm and Nicki for finally goin back to her Beam Me Up Scotty style

@ Layla, sales and content or two different things. Those people my have sold a lot of records but thats was a whole other generation. In today’s music, beats is what sales records not great lyrics. Also, Common is well respected in the rap game, so much that Jay-z gave him kudos…(google that). All those people you claim that don’t go platinum, they don’t measure their success by sales of cd, but rather real music that have a real following of people. Todays music is a trend, not long lasting. We have more one hit wonders in our generation then any other generation….but feel free to listen to your junk food “hip-hop”…Please know that in a the next year or so we won’t remember these people…P.S.
