I agree it sounds almost identical to American Boys, which was a great hit, so I ain’t mad at her for going for what works. However, I just don’t get the hype with her. I honestly don’t think the girl can sing.

I LOOOOVE this video! It was so beautiful, cute, and real. Jesse aint really my type, but he looked handsome in this video. Their chemistry was so genuine. I loved the flow of the scenes and the setting. I smiled during it. I don’t understand why people don’t think Estelle can sing. She can so, she has such a beautiful, light, tone.

I loved Estelle’s song American Boy and this sounds like it so this song is cool. I don’t think she’s that great of a singer though. She has a nice tone that flows well on a song but as for having vocal skills, I don’t think she has it.

He’s not like Jayz, who when he’s not putting out an album, rides the coattail of another successful artist to stay relevant, i.e., Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys, and now Eminem. All of a sudden he wants to jump on a track with them, or tour with them in concert…He’s always riding the coattails of the “sure things, artists who were going to be big sellers.” Crusty butt not slick….Anyways back to this post….

Estelle is a very ugly girl. She wears nice clothes and has nice shoes but that still doesn’t change the fact that I wanna throw up when she comes on the screen.I wonder if she has skin issues.

I agree with some of the comments. This song sounds similar to American boy and she doing the same dancing in the bridge/rap section. I also dont think Estelle can sing, she always seems to be slightly off key. Also, why is she the darkest person featuring in the video. There is enough good looking darker brothers she couldve picked.

Well when dark skin brothers start casting dark skinned women in their videos then it will be recipricated. Unitl then, I wouldnt cast their behinds no more than they cast black women. Ridiculous! We prove to the world we are self haters with our choices, but then expect to be looked at as normal and healthy. I don’t blame Estelle for not casting them because someone her complexion would never cast her. And i’m not about to give black men more value than black women are valued at. Some successful black men show over and over and over and over that they do not truly value dark skinned black women….any chance they get they cast and revere anything but.
Though it was probably not deliberate, i’m with Estelle on this one.

Ok didn’t know what the hype was with this Jesse guy. It looked like any other light skinned, light eyed guy that women fawn over. After seeing this video, I’ve changed my mind. I can see the appeal.
Well at least she’s proven that you don’t have to be pretty or have sex to get a record deal because I KNOW ain’t nobody trying to hit that.

Who ever said Estelle can’t sing get a clue. Saw her perform live and she stole the show from the Headliner. Video great, Jessie and Nas even better. And while listening I kept saying this sounds familiar – American Boy redone. Like song and video, much respect to Estelle.
