Wow, the media really made a big deal about this. Basketball is a game people, a game grown men get overpaid to play….It’s not even real work like a real man would do…The way the media blew this up was as if they were waiting on the president himself to make a congressional decision…geez.

But I swear our priorities as people is all screwed up in terms of what we put a lot of attention, focus, and resources into, compared to more important things in life…..They willing to throw millions and millions of dollars at these athletes for playing games all day, but if a charity asked these same people throwing money at these athletes for a dollar, they would swear they are broke……The same thing happens with police officers and fire fighters who are grossly underpaid seeing as though they put their lives on the line daily, are being laid off, and the cities and states swear they cannot pay for these resources; neither can we ever get enough of police officers and such to do the job efficiently because of budget contstraints…Yeah, but somehow, somebody can pay Lebron’s behind millions on top of millions on top of millions to play a few basketball games per year….just wow. And I’m aware money to pay for various things comes from different sources, however, if our government wanted to change that system, they could…..

This event escalated the way it did, because of peoples preference. The majority is entertained by watching sports stars and how the choices they make. The players benefit from our preference to be entertained by them. On the other hand we (maybe not you) benefit from being entertained by their talent. The government has nothing to do with it. To involve the government in my opinion would make it worse. The majority of government official are out for self interest. A pay cut thats funny. I really am praying for Savannah and the kids, so far I have seen a lot of marriages and relationships go down the drain in Miami. We are quick to say players are overpaid etc. and to “regular” people that will always be the first thought. Never forget though that there are a bunch of faceless people who have made a ton of money off Lebron. The NBA, the owners, the merchandisers all rich off of one man. This is not about loyalty this is about money and who gains and who loses. This is about capitalism at its best. Lebron’s way of handling this was quite tacky IMO but Ohio created this years ago when he was a phenom in high school. I think it was a tad bit extra to have an hour long special but whatever – I watched it. People are definitely over-reacting (including Dan Gilbert) about his decision.
