Earlier this week, there were rumors going around the industry that Alicia Keys fired her whole management staff and Jeff Robinson of MBK Entertainment Inc. (the man who has managed Alicia since her teenage years) has released an official statement saying they have only “modified the structure of their business relationship.”
The official press release goes into detail:
Jeff Robinson, CEO of MBK Entertainment Inc., and 12 Time Grammy Award winner Alicia Keys have decided to modify the structure of their business relationship. Robinson and Keys will continue to collaborate on future albums together through MBK/J Records while Alicia will oversee other aspects of her career.
MBK Entertainment Inc. has been the management firm for Alicia Keys since she was a teenager-guiding all aspects of her career, including world renowned multi platinum award winning album, films, and branding opportunities. Keys and Robinson have mutually and amicably agreed to pursue other opportunities.
This decision will allow Alicia more control over all aspects of her career from singing and songwriting, to leading many business ventures and social causes. Keys’ company, AK Worldwide, will now have responsibility and oversight for Alicia’s touring, endorsements, sponsorships, licensing, new business development, television and film ventures.
MBK, a multifaceted entertainment company with a film, television, publishing and independent marketing divisions, will continue to focus on developing the careers of new, young talented artists such as Elle Varner and Gabi Wilson, who are both signed to MBK Entertainment. The company will also delve deeper into the gospel music format with their newly formed Glory to Glory Records.
Keys and Robinson have mutually and amicably agreed to pursue other opportunities.
Alicia, who took a fall a couple of weeks ago during the Essence Music Festival, is currently pregnant with her first child by producer Swizz Beatz.

When these artists put their personal and professional in the press it gives us the right to pass judgement and make comments. Alicias stans know she’s confused. She wants to be like Bey, Gaga, Angelina, anybody except herself, she’s confused And no matter what she stepped into the dirt when she started a relationship with a married man, period.
She hasn’t let him go totally and trust Robinson is doing many things. Keys is having a baby and she’s going to enjoy that for a minute.Jeff isn’t going anywhere trust in that you don’t mess with gold.
Keys has to make herself happy,she’s having a child and she’s happy so let’s rejoice kids are blessings and I’m glad she’s happy.
Jeff and Alicia are still business partners but you have to empower yourself. Change is constant!

My ex-boyfriend did a hurtful, deceitful and foul thing to me that ended a 10yr relationship between us. I wanted to seek revenge on him so bad, but didn’t because then I would have looked just as bad as him. Turns out I didn’t have to do a damn thing because now things have gotten quite “ugly” in his life! If you go around hurting and betraying people it will come back to you in some form or another. True, we don’t know any of these people’s TRULY personal business other than what’s released through tabloids and the press. This includes you and your interpretation of them having a strong relationship, and their child being conceived through such. I can say for a fact that Alicia and Swizz lied because they were straight up asked by many dj’s and interviewers, and both of them lied through their teeth, stating they were just friends, and they were no truth to the rumors of a relationship; they basically laughed it off. I guess If I were to believe that, then that would mean that Mashonda had a crystal ball, and by some odd turn of events, Swizz and Alicia decided to later on have a relationship. Bull! Two wrongs don’t make it right. And the lights are on AKeys right now because she is the latest black celeb to get caught in this mess. People think black men are prone to this so nobody is trippin off Swiz. But trust nobody outside of the blogs too much care about what Alicia do with her personal life either. Nobody is condemning her on those news channels so she’s lucky. Akeys has it pretty good. This won’t affect her boring career. People will still buy her boring albums and completely ignore everything else about her. Swizz career is Nowhere near hers & I know a lot of couples believe in keeping it in the family, but he knows nothing about management. She’s about to make a huge mistake with this one.
