The new single, “Can’t Be Friends,” is the follow-up to the Nicki Minaj-assisted first single, “Bottoms Up,” which Trey revealed last night, on BET’s 106 & Park, has video shot in Miami premiering in the near future.
Trey will promote the new album while touring with R&B sensation Monica, with project hitting stores September 14th, via Atlantic Records.
Not going to share my thoughts on the song or the album cover. I will, however, say this:
I see an album pushback coming from 100 miles away. And to the person who mentioned a re-release of “Ready”…you are obviously smarter than the record executives who approved the releasr date.
3/5 people won’t even know the new song if from a new album.
I like it. Why is coming out so quickly though? He could’ve at least waited until the top of next year but, oh wel, when you’re hot you’re hot.

Why he releasing an album so soon??? He need to take a year off and work on them vocals. (comin from a music major by the way) I’m not hatin. The ladies are gonna love him regardless so as long as he still keeps his figure he’ll be fine lol. He just needs them vocals to add to his appeal… thats all…

i LOVEEEE this song & i LOOVVEEEE trey songz ; but i would have to agree that he’s coming out with another album TOOO soon ; he needs to sit & relax & still build up off of ready even more ; coming out with another album this quick is a bad idea ; he has a large fan base but is it large enough to go platinum ? ; hopefully he re-thinks his choice in coming out with the album in september & pushes it back; i still love him tho<3

Trey is a one dimensional artist. From the history of his music, it seems as if he can only relate to and sing about one thing, sex, and that’s a shame. I DO like this track but something’s missing from it, another verse maybe?? But LMAO because Ready didn’t even go platinum but this man had the nerve to diss the King of R&B R. Kelly? You can tell GREAT r&b artists from “the rest of ‘em” when they are able to branch out e.g. R. Kelly sang with Celine Dion. R. Kelly is a musical genius. He wrote and produced all his music. What non-r&b (or non hip hop) artists want to work with Songz? (crickets). This new cd won’t even sell as well as Ready. He needs more fans than just african american ones (mainly women of course) and more topics to sing about. Trey, we’re tired of hearing about how many women you sleep with and how big your penis is. We all know (at least the 25 yr old and over crowd) you didn’t invent sex lil’ boy so kill that noise and come better with some different, more mature ish for once. #GROWTH
