I have subscription to Essence for the first time, and I beginning to love reading that magazine, I purchase my first one with Jada about discussing about loving her body in the July issue and it was great!! Then I brought the Janet cover in Aug and loved it also, so I ordered it from Canada… Can’t wait to read this issue!!! Black Love is a beautiful thing!!!

@rolls eyes white mags have the same type of covers so idk what you’re complaining about. men in general think that the world owes them something, doesn’t matter what race they are and there are plenty of white men who wouldn’t date black women (yes it’s worse when a black man neglects black women but still it shows that both can have color issues) so the fact that you overlook their flaws but can’t overlook a black man’s flaws shows that you’re just as bad as the black men who only date white women because “black women have attitudes or never paid them attention blah blah”

I think black women take these ”what makes black men happy and faithful” themes a little more personal than their white counterparts only because the media always perpetuates the negative stereotypes of black women. So, when black women see these titles, it almost reaffirms that black women are the problem, only it reaffirms it from a black man’s perspective.
I love the cover. I wish they could have black men that are in the 20/30 age range, but this will suffice for now.
