New music from Lloyd has hit the scene as the 24-year-old, who’s now signed to Polow da Don’s Zone 4 label via Interscope, puts the finishing touches on his fourth album, King of Hearts.
The Patti LaBelle-sampled and Polow-produced “Lay It Down” is the lead single from the album, which is slated for release early 2011. It includes writing and producing credits from Jim Jonsin, Ester Dean, Bruno Mars and more.
Lloyd says, “It feels good to start fresh with Polow and Interscope, making music is fun again. We took my sound to another level with “Lay It Down”. It’s a true R&B sound that’s missing from music right now.” Check out Lloyd’s new promo pics below.

This is recycled music. The Sample wasnt even used with craft. I mean just play the Patti LaBelle Instrumental and sing over it and add a sped up beat. this is on some old Kanye’s first album type mess with Jamie Foxx and Twista!

I don’t know much about his music but I love his look and think he is so sexy. I wish him much success as he seems to be one of the more humbled young artist.
I agree with others. The vocals sound overstressed, too loud screaming (a la Bobby Brown, but not effective), annoying. It’s too fast to be R&B…he needs to smooth it out a little bit more. I want to like it, but it is annoying the crap out of me!!!

What the hell is this…..Lloyd is a much better singer than this. The yelling is not working for him, and the lyrics are weak. I think maybe he’s trying to hard to prove he can sing or either he’s trying for something new but it ain’t it. He needs to make more songs with passion like “I Can Change Your Life” or go back to a smoother sound like “You”. He is a handsome young man, but he looks lifeless and sad in these pictures.

We who are fans of Lloyd’s music KNOW we can expect his angelic voice to come thru sounding magical whether its a fast vs. slow tempo kind of music. This to me is disappointing and adds up to “LLOYD COULD DO BETTER!” Will continue to be a FAN of Lloyd’s & yes he is SEXY but I was drawn to him through his MUSIC and looks nor style is not what will ONLY sell his records.
I mean– let’s be honest: Lloyd NEVER had impressive vocals. He’s just a nice face to look at. His vocals on this particular track are overstressed. I don’t like it, but I wish him the best.
LLoyd is not yelling, he is taking his vocals to the next level. This is a good thing, we are just not use to him extending his range. I think the track is a great start for him. LLoyd continue your direction because it will payoff for you as an artist in the end. So make sure you bring it with King of Hearts. CHANGE IS A GOOD THING there is a lot of competition in the game. GO LLOYD!!!!!
The vocals made me cringe at first, I’m not gonna lie lol!! But after a couple if listens it wasn’t so bad.
I can’t take that screaming hell no! Lloyd has a really beautiful voice – soft and sexy. He needs to stick with that instead of hollering and carrying on.
Lloyd’s major problem to me is his lack of guidance in the industry. He needs to get someone in his corner to help his f-cked up look. He looks like an old bum and he is really a cute guy. He needs to get rid of them braids and quick. He reminds me of somebody’s senile grandpa. You know how the family throw some old clothes on gramps and sit him down in his favorite chair on the front porch with a cold drank.
Get an image makeover Lloyd. Wear that long sexy hair loose and don’t mess up your pretty voice.

Feelin’ this one. Gotta say I like the fact that Polow tryin’ to bring out the soul and passion in Lloyd’s vocals… I know he pushed him for that on this one. Makes the song sound more real and true. Can’t keep singin’ the same ol’ #@it the same ol’ way i.e. Jaheim. Ya’ll sound stupid on the yelling… don’t really know music!!

lloyd, i love your music, i have been a fan of yuors from the beginning of ‘get shawty’ and i am a 59 yr. old woman. i never thought you belonged with lil wayne and his crew, u looked out of place there. now u look more at home with your new family of music. don’t get discouraged with all the negative vibe out there. just be u. you are still growing and so are your vocals. keep doing what u are doing, by the way, u are sexy and one of the most handsome young men out there.
