A funeral service for 1-year-old Ja’van Duley and 2-year-old Devean Duley is scheduled for Friday in Orangeburg, South Carolina. The boys were found dead on Monday in a South Carolina river and were reportedly smothered on by their mother, Shaquan Duley.
Shaquan Duley, the boys’ mother, is accused of smothering her children, then strapping their lifeless bodies into car seats and sinking the car in the Edisto River.
Authorities said Duley, a 29-year-old unemployed, single mother, may have been fed up with criticism from her mother and that her increasing frustration could have led to the killings. [ READ MORE ]

Well if the boys is 1 and 2 years old then she probably had a job and a bf (baby father/ boyfriend) and less criticism from her mom. Nevertheless, murdering children or anyone for that matter is wrong in so many ways. I pray for the family and their mother in these hard times.

There are some mothers in jail that would do ANYTHING to be reunited with their kids again. They will not make it easy for her in there.

This is sad on so many levels. These little angels didnt ask for any of this. I’m at a lost for words.
Well I do have a few thoughts about the actions of all the adults involved. My younger and older mothers, if life is too hard, it the father refuses to partake in the child’s life, if motherhood is just to stressful, if you feel you have no support from anyone at all, just give the child(ren) to social services. Murder is not the answer. Suicide is not the answer.
On a prevention note: Keep condoms in your purse, forget what a man thinks of you he still gonna do ya. Get on the pill, eat right and workout if your concern is weight. Try and prevent circumstances from happening because we as women have to think for ourselves and not assume anything from a men before or after sex.
My heart goes out to these boys. This mad my cry at my desk. I can only be glad they are in the Lord’s hands and away from this evil woman. How can people be so cruel to their own flesh and blood? I do not know this woman so I will not throw stones. Sometimes the people closet to you (your family and friends) berate and downcast you so much and make you feel worthless to even take care of your own. In that case, I wish people would mind their own business or help do something about it instead of putting the person (i.e. daughter down). I hope they have some guilt on their conscious.
My soul cries for these poor children. I have a son who will be one in 2 weeks and they remind me so much of him- such innocence. May Jah have mercy on her soul!

As a mother of two boys myself, this is just horrible! to hurt anyone is bad enough, but your own children your flesh and blood! is just horrific and disgusting! and I hope she suffers the rest of her life for it! and her after life.
See, this makes me so mad, because I can’t have any children of my own because of my health issue…. why didn’t the mother give her children to a extended family of her’s instead of killing her kids?? She could’ve went for help… I’m not sure how you guys do it in the US, but in Canada, we have big support systems here. Honestly, she kinda brought it on herself, if she was smart, go to school and do something with your life instead of putting the blame on her mother on her problems. If your not ready to have children, don’t go after man period!!! Get your life in order and do you first before you bring children in this world and stuggling to take care of them. This is terribly sad! I just don’t understand how a Mother could take her child’s life. She must have had some serious issues. It has to be more than being “stressed”. Raising children, especially youngings like that, is obviously difficult but that is the reality of being a Mom/parent. It breaks my heart that these two beautiful little boys would have something like that happen to them. MANY women on this Earth would do anything for a child. SMH.

this is a tough one and i beg everyone not to judge this woman…if she was single or married with a one and two year old children…daycare for them would be 185, per child per week..they’ll have rent or mortgage…not to mention if her family was critical of her then they probably didn’t help her much…also, her kids were young and close together…she probably never recovered from post potem ( i know i spelled that wrong), depression and may have been still going through it with the 2nd one….it’s not easy….we need to help these people..alot of ya’ll were brought by a single parent and that’s one tough job…god bless

Orangeburg is a really small town. That’s where I’m from. I didn’t know her, but she did the crime in a hotel right up the road from the neighborhood my sister lives with her husband and four kids. When I first heard about it, I was death penalty all the way, but that’d be letting her off to easy. I think she should rot in prison and be reminded everyday of the awful and heinous act she committed. I have 3 sisters and a brother, they all have kids. But as many times as I know it gets really hard for them, espeically my 28yo sister, they’d never stoop to this level. Don’t have kids if you know you’re not in a place to care for them. Meaning, if you aren’t on your own residentially and finacially and have a man that you know will take care of their’s, if financially you aren’t in the best place, and if you don’t have a loving supporting family. Don’t do it. SMH those boys were beautiful
