Iman poses at the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday (August 5) to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Essence Magazine, which recently came under fire for hiring a white fashion editor.
The 55-year-old beauty rang the closing bell with Michelle Ebanks, President of Essence Communications, and was spotted waiting for her car (see below). Iman joins fellow models Naomi Campbell and Liya Kebede on the anniversary issue.

REALLY 40th wow usual i only say women her age look good cuz they elders but she realy does
Minus her jacked up feet she looks fly for her age.
I want that dress. She looks fabulous! I hope that I age that well.
I am curious so still some celebrities and rich people feel lonely.

I wanna be Iman we I grow up…man this woman looks f’ing FABULOUS!!!! People are so afraid to grow old…this is how you do it gracefully…man I swear women of color (black, hispanic, asian) have the best skin…we all age so well!!!!
She looks so wonderful..too bad my grandma couldn’t be healthy..when she was 55, she was fat and all she wanted to eat was fast food..she’s still fat, but that can change..anyways Iman looks simply gorgeous.
Niggas make me sick…How the fuck you gonna hire a “white fashion editor”…How the fuck she gonna teach black women to dress…NIGGAS MAKE ME SICK!
Okay can we all say PLASTIC SURGERY much on this woman. I wonder what the heck she would be looking like without all the plastic surgery. She is old enough about now to be having those wrinkles like every other woman her age but for some reason I see none. Enough said!
#5 I agreed with everyone you said.
Iman dresses so tastfully and stylish it isane. David Bowie is one lucky MOFO.
Iman= Beauty ! ! ! I love the dress! ! !
she looks flawless as usual
She is beautiful, but why won’t she get her feet fixed? They even look horrible in peep toes. Goodness!!!
Omgoodness Iman looks so beautiful. I can’t believe she’s married to that white guy…she far too fly to be w/ him.
I love it!!!!! Iman still looks better than a whole bunch of little 18, 19, and 20yr olds. She takes care of her self. BLACK DNT CRACK! lol She is beautiful! Don’t forget to Follow Me on TWITTER @taitibaby Don’t forget to Follow Me on TWITTER @taitibaby
@7 i jus rememberd reading about that u rite i didnt even think about it cuz i saw iman how can essence promote black beauty by saying follow a white womans advice im not races but that is
Oh, those feets is horrible! I detest ulgy toes, put sum socks on them thangs…
Iman looks great! I don’t know why people are mad that Essence hired a white fashion editor. They hired the best person for the job regardless of color. But i guess some people think reverse racism is acceptable. BS! America is TOO obsessed about race. The same people upset about the Essence ‘controversy’ would be happy to have a black fashion editor for Vogue or Cosmo.
It’s inevitable…Essence is white owned therefore it’s only a matter of time for them put their own in the forefront, that’s how self-promotion & UNIFICATION work, it has nothing to do with if she’s the better person for the job, don’t see how people don’t get this mentality of mankind…
now only if us Africans/americans will unify….smh
#13, really too fly for David Bowie, that man is a mega star, he’s like the white Prince! And they’ve had a very long successful marriage, proving that no matter what the public think, they love and respect each other deeply, I hope they never split.
I agree with #17, if we want to say that color should not matter in the hiring of people of color we as a community must also give that same “color blindness” in our own hiring practices.
The best person for the job is the best person, showing someone how to dress isn’t limited to color!
I swear skinny…is all you think about is how skinny or fat a person is? Bloodclot…so true. Most black women will think Iman fashion sense is her own when in all reality it is someone elses image being portrayed upon her.
She is STUNNING as usual! Have to admit, I don’t read Essence anymore… @ thesedays, I agree …but, keepin it REAL…A black fashion editor at Vogue, Instyle or HB? DON’T SEE IT! Usually when an AA business hires outside da race? Just doesn’t do well. I have seen only ONE black fashion mag that was outstanding and dat MF cost more dan the 3 mags I mentioned up top! WDF? I’m thinking Essence felt they chose the most qualified person, but it IS a mag for black women. She’s the “fashion” editor. She is not takin OVER da mag. I am curious to see if she turns it around.
damn them toes are stacked on top of each other!
See AFRICAN woman are the shit!!!!!! Looking at this woman Liya Kebede and drama queen Jamaican Naomi Campbell on the magazine cover….NUFF SAID.
AFRICAN WOMEN ARE TIMELESS CLASSIC AND BEAUTIFUL.
Flawless.
Her toes throwin’ up sign language that reads HELP!
that dress and sunnies are beat…
I love her dress.
@ Nique
Those are just gang signs, her feet are repping for the West side.
Essence has done one thing right – it’s nice to see Liya Kebede with a short natural. It’s such a rarity to see black celebs or models with natural hair. Kudos to them for putting her on the cover with her new look.
OMG, she is the most beautiful woman in the world !!!!!
speechless!!!!shes just gorgeous
dammmnn she looks so FINE!!
What’s up with Iman’s big toes???
