Wow. Gripping
I live in New Orleans & im getting a little of sick of all these documentaries about our city.it makes people(the ignorant ones) think that every part of it looks like that and it’s not true..it’s much better since the hurricane. love my city and im never leaving.
Bush Hates Black People in my “Kanye West” voice
I think his documentaries make the situation feel “real” to all of those not directly involved. At least thats what it did for me. I saw it happening on TV and heard about it from others but it really didnt click until I watched “When the Levees Broke”. Thats when I was like: “what kind of country am I really living in??”
Can’t wait to see this. @ #2 There’s always been huge disparities between different parts of NOLA. What’s new?
I would love to see NO today through Lee’s eyes.
Can’t wait!
He’s to me one of the last trees standing.

YOU sound ignorant. Be glad that anyone still cares. I just saw on cnn that a middle class black suburb was getting NO help at all and the residents pulled together to try to make it work. A lot of New Orleans still looks like shit. Now on top of that the oil spill?!?! If no one cared and your city was being ignored you would be singing a different tune.
I agree with Shaunique…Spike should be
applauded for shedding light on the issue because its not his job…the goverment officials haven’t made any efforts in doing anything & so I think what he’s done is commendable.
@ Don’t be a sheep. im watching this documentary now and they have a man showing the st bernard projects and right now to this day..there is no more st.bernard projects.they tore that down and rebuilded them with new apartments…so what they are showing is old..I see the people rebuilding in my city , replacing the projects, making new apartments..I LIVE IN THIS CITY..I know what’s going on and basically im just saying that Im tired of ignorant people saying that new orleans is gone..the people who think it’s still destroyed and not worth living here ..We are definitely coming back and some people don’t realise that. That’s what makes me upset and that’s what i meant by my statement.

I just got back from New Orleans this morning, and it is a city that I have grown to love. Those people have been through so much, and they show that through tru perserverance, anything is possible. I will continue to visit the city of New Orleans and spend my money with the african-american owned businesses.
! Angel! You are the Bomb, for posting this. For some reason, I did not know anything about the documentary, missed it tonight, but set the DVR to record. Also , the Black T.V. interview is the BOMB. I totally like how real and authentic it was! Much props for keeping us informed!
i already saw it 2 weeks ago in france, it’s very sad
thank you Concrete Loop for sharing this interview and I agree w/ Shanique and fugeo, Spike should be applauded, many people have forgotten.

Its like you read my mind! You appear to grasp so much approximately this, like you wrote the e-book in it or something. I feel that you just could do with some p.c. to force the message house a little bit, but instead of that, this is fantastic blog. A great read. I’ll certainly be back.
