I feel like Drake’s performances are always over hyped, and then he feels to live up to it. For example, his previous BET Award performances. I mean the BET Awards are never that big of a production like the VMA’s but still. Drake never seems to bring it as much as people expect.
This dude is overrated, I listened to his mixtape heard his album. It was boring he talked about what every rapper talks about except it was medicore. The beats are radio friendly , but when you hear his acapella’s he sound garbage. He’s hiding behind the pop beats, smdh.
@Cory Agreed sat down to watch his performance and it was boring. I’m really not buying this dude’s hype. Road To Drake? They are reaching. I guess the want us to think he’s gonna do something amazing on stage? Not buying it.

I agree that his performances and appearances are extremely over hyped and I like Drake but it IS getting old seeing him everywhere but I don’t agree about the music at all @11. You have every right to dislike his music but he definitely doesn’t talk about all of the same things rappers always talk about and especially not in the same way..
I don’t know any rappers that would include crying while their mom’s crying on them after trying to run away in a song about wanting success , directly admitting to having unprotected sex and the woman aborting and regretting it, or talking about wanting to marry regular women that can’t accept their fame etc. in their music at all.. especially not in the same manner as him. I’m not sure of what other rappers you’re listening to but I can’t name any.

I imagine GaGa may be thinking to say to GaGa to sit her azz down and keep it down except for Telephone. She got her Grammys, and so the VMA is for mommy monster. I expect Jay would be sitting comfy waiting for his and making trips on stage to collect. I like Drake better as a singer than a rapper. He sounds so ghetto when he raps. And whoever says he doesn’t rap about the same things that other rappers rap about needs to analyze his music again! Yes he does and his videos are just like every other rappers. They are all about sex, video hos, and self praising.
Lacey, him rapping about making mistakes or serious life issues can easily be compared to rappers such as Eminem and Jay-Z, it’s just that their issues are much more deep and interesting so what are you talking about you never heard a rapper rap about issues like his? Yeah, his situations/events may be different, but the concept of those songs can be compared with what Eminem and Jay-Z has rapped about on their albums.
Anyway, this video was so boring and I also laughed when he was walking down the stairs! He looked like a jackass. How did he ever get an acting job? His performance is just going to be another mediocre performance of his walking around and shouting the song onstage.
LAME is anyone calling ppl on their grind evil. I saw nothing evil about this vid nor have I ever seen this young man doing anything but staying on his grind delivering good music!! I admit that his vids can get better but other than that…salute!!
Drake is just so handsome, not in a GQ sense but in a he’s got something in his eyes and smile that’s very attractive and in that promo he was sexy as hell!! I won’t be watching the awards because Chelsea Handler makes me sick but I will find video of Drake’s performance online. Love him!!

a. drake is a human, sorry he can’t rap about what it’s like on mars or something… there’s only so much a PERSON can talk about not to mention a rapper.. they live similar lives; the point of my comment is he doesn’t address the subjects you & i mentioned like other rappers..
he doesn’t say i got mad hos, i got mad clothes etc. if he talks about hos he talks about how pathetic and sad the life of a video girl is in depth (HoustAtlantaVegas etc.) you can NOT tell me you heard anything like that before; the closest is The Game and he didn’t go about it in the same manner.. Drake pittied them, etc. Because he talks about life problems and Eminem and Jay do too, it’s the same? Not. At. All. and neither of them make themselves vulnerable in the manner Drake does in their music at all.. they’re completely different. You’re very on the surface @27.. you must not listen to a lot of Drake or other rappers hence your opinion not being a very well backed one.
Drake’s personality is nothing like Em or Jay’s or any rapper I’ve heard.. he talks about wanting to have sex it’s with a mature woman who owns a home not just a pretty girl who’s ‘lookin fine’ etc. he actually praises WOMEN in his music and with his career.. like I said, if you don’t know you shouldn’t respond to something I’ve typed.
