Chelsea Handler – EXPECTATIONS were HIGH for Chelsea, but the only thing that was HIGH was HER resulting in a FLAT PERFORMANCE. The punch lines were mediocre, somewhat offensive, and so over the top it didn’t make sense. As offensive as her jokes; it wasn’t surprising if you ever seen her show.
Rihanna – Ronald McDonald has walked in the BUILDING!! Wait, no, that was Rihanna. Why was she there? IDK? Was her performance worth her appearance? No! Her style was over the top, and the arrogance she displayed during Drake “FANCY” performance made me not like her even more. She’s those artist that you can tell s being molded and not being herself.
Drake – His performance was probably one of the best of the night. (easily given with the little competition.) Drake is an adored artist that makes great music, but his on stage performance are very questionable. His stage presence is very lack-luster and not believable. He’s like one of the lames at the party trying to be cool, and fall flat with corny hand movements and tacky body language.
Nicki Minaj – I like her, I really do. But I’m kind of on the fence with her and her career at this point. I dig her “I’M DIFFERENT LOOK” but it’s too much. She’s too old to be trying to be a BARBIE and the facial expressions now are little less amusing and moreso scary. Nicki find yourself and not Barbie, plastic don’t less forever..
Usher – Nice performance, but it’s like he’s not that appealing anymore. In retrospect he was one of those artist you couldn’t wait to see perform at an award show…. the anticipation has certainly declined over the years. His dance was ok, but nothing great. Could he have done better? Yes! But did he no? I think he’s getting old and trying his best 2 fight off his competition.
Lady Gaga – Lets be serious and please let’s be. If there is one artist that’s over the top it’s her for SURE! I don’t like her. She needs to calm down on the wadrobe if you’re singer stop trying 2 b a FASHION ICON! You were molded into this “GAGA” character it’s not really you…. You can tell she was high off COCAINE the whole time, because she was constantly crying as if she didn’t know she was going to win.
Kanye West – The performance was ass-kissing. I swear it’s like Kanye is not even the same anymore. I think b4 the world can get over the whole Taylor Swift incident he would need to himself, because I personally don’t care. When he did do it; yes it was rude, but it went down in POP CULTURE history. He didn’t lose fans we just all seen him for the asshole he is and we accept it. Kanye leave the little whore alone no one cares 4 her.
VMA SHOW – Boring, Racist, Dry etc… The VMA’s had no A-Listers there, and the presenters were more of C-Listers….LOL! Chelsea skits were not funny and very offensive. They tried so hard to be better than the BET Awards but once again their over the topness led the straight 2 a fall on their ass. I thought it was kinda of unfair that no BLACK PERSON won an award and that they gave Lady Gaga all those awards when every woman deserved one including Katy Perry. Best Female Pop video belong to Katy because it was more POP than Lady Gaga’s DOMINATRIX GAY-ORIENTED Videos….IDK about the VMA’s but they kiss ass.

Last night was a pop performance. No singing. Wacky choreography that’s meant for a teenager to do, not a 31 year old man. The artists who are authentic and original are not promoted. Lyfe Jennings, Chrisette Michele, Wale, etc. I miss the days when videos were actually played on tv. Award shows used to be filled with great artists. Thank the Lord for artists like Monica who came from the 90s and still hold on to themselves and put out good music. MTV doesn’t even show videos anymore except for like an hour in the morning when almost no one’s awake so what’s the point of continuing to have an award show?

This is the first year where the BET Awards was better then the VMA’s… the VMA’s was an overall boring show. I enjoyed Paramore, Justin Beiber, Kanye West, and Florence & the Machine. Florence & the machine actually had the best performance of the night. I loved Gaga’s little 15 second rift of her new song. Usher and Eminem has been doing the same thing for the past 10+ years. Taylor nearly put me to sleep. I was over Drake and Mary. MTV caters to a certain type of audience just like BET does. BET gives the black people awards based on who’s popular at the time.. and MTV gives the awards to those whose fans VOTE the most.

I give that up to the graphic designers, techs, and camera men ,who were doing the angles, but Usher’s dance moves were stiff, technical, and slow! He was all out of breath and I hate how he dances. Justin Bieber’s VOCIE IS HORRID! Even if he was lip-syncing, he still sounded a mess. He has potential to be a good dancer, but he was a great drum player! Singing is definitely not his forte. He should stick to being a backup dancer and drum player.
