I was shocked to know that she is not even 30 yet, is she 25 yet? The way she dresses & wear that hair makes her look so old & mean, it’s a shame at some point. I saw pix of her when she is not in her tux & black & white and she is way cuter and looks young! This strict look is classic, we get it, but she is in her 20′s, there are too many beautiful clothes and colors out there, they wouldnt hurt her career or talent or dignity if she tried some, she is a beautiful woman, its a waste. I hope she sweeps the Grammys in 2011.

I too would love to see Ms Monae in other colors and styles. She is pretty no doubt but it gets old seeing someone in the same thing over and over again. I like that Janelle is really crafting a persona while also being a thoughtful and talented musician, unlike some….proves that you don’t need to be dying your hair all kinds of crazy colors and running around in some cartoonish, flashy getup (or barely any clothes for that matter) to get attention. She’s talented, never in tabloids for personal business, and she doesn’t need the superfluous stuff to be successful.
