In 1976, after years of mysterious absence, Marcus (Anthony Mackie, “The Hurt Locker”) returns to the Philadelphia neighborhood where he came of age in the midst of the Black Power movement. While his arrival raises suspicion among his family and former neighbors, he finds acceptance from his old friend Patricia (Kerry Washington, “Ray,” “Lift”) and her daughter. However, Marcus quickly finds himself at odds with the organization he once embraced, whose members suspect he orchestrated the slaying of their former comrade-in-arms. #4, obviously you have not followed actress Kerry Washington’s career in movies. This woman’s lips are hers, watch the movie “Our Song”.
Anyways, this movie looks like the writing, acting, and cinematography will be wonderful but the overall movie’s theme reminds me of other similar plots. The other movies may not be of the Black Panther movement but I see consistent themes of “returning back home, former friends are different and some like the character than others do not, and someone is after the main character”. I will view it when it appears on television like Sundance Channel or IFC. Thanks for posting the trailer.

heard about this film ages ago, was wondering when it was finally going to be released after a tour a sundance.
Overall great characters roles, great actors filling the shoes, just black cinema at its best and I wish we could support our fellow brothas n sistas in the game. They do tremendous work, and they’re brilliant at it. So lets support, please.
