@4, leave it up to you to leave a comment so empty. Just shut up and stay off the blog.

So many great actresses included in this one film!!! I cannot wait to see this. Tyler Perry is moving into a different direction and I love it! Novemeber 5th can’t come fast enough! I’m so sick of these lame useless films that have been in the theaters, finally a film worth spending my money to see.

  10. PearlOwusu

CAN’T WAIT TO SEE IT!!!! SOOOOO EXCITEDD. :D D

  11. Cory

Ahh shit, this looks GOOD! Tyler Perry really trying to win some awards!

  12. MsOkc

This is an awesome stage play. Read it in high school and y’all should peep the original movie b4 the newer 1.

    @ 10

I kind of do see what #4 is saying, because I feel like while the movie might be daring people to just enter the worlds of beautiful yet complex women as they find their way through complicated circumstances, & NOT just see it as another woe to me, I was born the weep and struggle, and look sweaty with a dreadful weave because I’m black in a female empowerment Tyler Perry melodrama………people will just see it as the latter. lmao

I still am looking forward to it though because it looks intriguing. I hope I can fight my disgust at how sad and sweaty everyone looks….because I’m a “black” woman and my life’s pretty swell. When will they make a movie about that? : )

  14. John

    @Simmie

Although I total agree with you 100%! I really don’t want to see another my husband is betting on me or his cheating on me. I don’t love my self so I sleep with a lot of man just to find love type of movie. Don’t get me wrong I love seeing movie that promotes black unity and love for ones self! I just hope it’s not one of those stereotypical film.

  15. Honest Critic

This looks like a great movie with top of the line acting and REAL actresses, not just popular faces brought together to sell tickets. Like another poster said, there hasn’t been many movies out there worth spending money on so I haven’t been to the movies in a minute, but this is certainly something I would go see with the girls.

  16. AC

This movie looks very promising. I cant wait to see Janet in this film!!! Janet and the entire cast!!!!! The cast is like a Who’s Who in Black Cinema.

  17. VegetariansWillRuleTheWorld

Michael Ealy is in it? YES!!

  18. dmonee

@ #4 yeah u coulda jus said nothin. She must not be black. smh
    I can’t wait. i’m definitely in there!

  19. one_systa

yes ma’am! .. some heavy hitters in this one .. i remember my mom taking me to see the play when i was way too young to understand it … i pray that ms. jackson-if-ya-nasty has taken some acting classes *_*

  20. angelita

Can’t wait to see this one.

  21. MsNunyaBidnezz

Looks like I’m gonna be in tearz………

Redemption for “Why Did I Get Married Too?”

  22. Lis

@4, OBVIOUSLY YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THIS FILM/THE BOOK (Yes, this was originally a book before it was even a play) TO SAY SOMETHING THAT DAMN STUPID!
I wish young fools like you today would just pull your pants up and go somewhere and jump off a cliff!
If you CAN READ, I suggest you go pick up a copy of the book before the movie comes out and you just may LEARN SOMETHING!

  23. zaina

dang that looks good proud of you brother!

  24. lemonhead

Sorry, I just can’t bring myself to WANT to see it. I don’t respect TP as a director. And I’m REALLY fed up with all these ‘woe is me’ black women tales. Can a sista see a nice romantic comedy or a suspense thriller starring Black characters? Please? We’ve had ENOUGH ‘massah/mississippi burnin’/struggling to come up’ stories!

#4 and #7-I agree w/ both of you.

  25. for me

To the 4TH comment and 23 this play is a great piece of art and if you open your mind you might learn something.

  26. J.L

Looks interesting… the cast alone is worth a trip to see it!!!

  27. J.L

  28. LDN80's

So the film is about……..?? LOL. I got no indication from that trailer what the movie is about. Google is best friend I guess….

  29. for me

@JOHN, This play is not about those topics, it is more about growing up as a black woman or any woman. It is about love, self love and good times. Yes there is some heartbreats but I have always loved this Choreopoem. It is a piece of our history.

  30. KD

@23 Totally agree, black people need to expand their horizons I am also tired of the “why me lawd, why me” stereotypical black movies.

The movie looks depressing as f*ck, why anyone would pay to be depressed is beyond me…well to each their I own I guess.

  31. Cory

#23 Spike Lee, is that you?!

  32. Johan

It may look disturbing, but a little thrill never hurt anyone!

  33. Destiny

I think Tyler has done it again!! I can’t wait:)

  34. Shanice

    Phylica Rashad!!!!!!!!! Anika Noni Rose!!!!!!!!
Yeah, I think I’m actually excited to see a Tyler Perry movie for once.
But he’s trying so hard to get accepted in Hollywood as a legit director and writer.
He definately is gonna be looked over again for this movie even though I haven’t seen it yet

  35. John

    @ for me

Thanks that all I needed to know! then I will go see it!

  36. lalaj

I would love to see the clip as well as listen to music posted why doesn’t the choice feature cater to all devices?

  37. Mrs. Sk8board P (ak & bk stan)

so ready to see this film

  38. Tabitha

Doesn’t look interesting to me. It looks depressing…

  39. Eric

I love Women of Brewster Place and this story reminds me of it, so I’m interested to see this film. I’m surprised though that Tyler turns out all of his movies as quickly as he announces them.

  40. I Mean Seriously??

Yeah, I’m going to see this!! I can’t wait.

I am far from depressed, and have no desire to become depressed, but that doesn’t mean I can’t connect with the struggles of others. I personally like most of TP’s movies (hated Precious though) because everything doesn’t have to be serious and epic. Some things can just be funny and meaningful. And when the moment presents itself to do something epic (which now looks like the case), he seems ready to answer the call. Thank God someone is putting black actresses to work, because it sure isn’t mainstream Hollywood.

  41. Tall Gyal

Definitely going to see this movie.

  42. sebastian

wow this looks powerful and intense…….cant wait to see it

  43. CaramelKisses

From watching the preview I gotta watch the play again. The cast looks great.

  44. Bloodclot Rhaaatttiidd

    HELL YEAH….

  45. Tehara

I don’t respect TP ‘s work either , his movies and directing skills are very amateur-ish . Although i am thrilled by any projects by black people , starring black people , i don’t think i would want to seat through this… I partly agree w/ #23 , i’m much more thrilled by movies like Takers or the remake of Death at a funeral than this …

  46. alltriple1

A must see for me. This would be Tyler Perry first movie not based on one of his plays. I hope he did a Great job.

  47. theacademiac

Okay, I’m glad this isn’t an adaption of a play Tyler Perry wrote…as #21 suggested I will take a look at the book/play. Not going to count on Perry to deliver it superbly but he will def get a mass turn out in the box office.

  48. Mr. Perfect

Looks very good. Can’t wait to see it.

  49. C

Tyler Perry with another black woman hating movie. Every movie Tyler puts out portrays black woman in such a negative light. We are either an emotional mess or need some man to save us from ourselves. This is not what I call empowering. It is great that we can have black actresses on movie theater screens but at what cost. Only to show every other races how black woman are “messed up,” really Tyler.

  50. Meat

What happened to Mariah Carey, Jill Scott and Jurnee Smollett? Weren’t they all casted in this film? I wonder why Tyler never cast Gabrielle, Sanaa, Nia, Meagan or Halle? Fantasia?

  51. _

Ahh people are angry and making assumptions because my opinion is different than theirs.

    @DMONEE Actually,I am black.

@LIS I’m not a fool, I don’t wear pants that need to be pulled up, and I can read. “Jump off a cliff”?? It’s a bit disturbing to tell someone to commit suicide because they don’t share your opinion. Grow up.

    @LEMONHEAD Thanks.

  52. Brandi

It does have a bit of humor in it too, you need to see the play or read the book as well.

I wish Nzingha Stewart would’ve been kept on as director. It was a shame how she was played.

  53. FallBackHaters

People please do not feed the troll aka #4.

@ #49- Maybe those like actresses had other filming commitments *shrugs*.

I do like this trailer. It actually doesn’t give to much away but I know it will be a great film. I need to find the book before the film comes out.

  54. Lis

**Ahh people are angry and making assumptions because my opinion is different than theirs.**

You don’t have an opinion. An opinion is based one’s personal belief, and since you have no idea what this movie/book is about, your “opinion” is competely based on YOUR ASSUMPTION.

You made a comment (assumption) based on inaccurate information, which makes you asinine and immature. BTW, telling someone to, “jump off a cliff” is a figure of speech. Just as if I told you to “kick rocks” or “take a hike”. It’s more of a connotation as oposed to a dennotation (not to be taken litterally) The overall premise here is for you to log off and go have a conversation more suitable for your level. You are out of your league on this.

  55. Lis

    @49,

    Gabrielle was in “Daddy’s Girls.

  56. Lis

@48, have you read the book? Have you heard of this project PRIOR to Tyler Perry? Seems alot of ppl like to make uneducated assumptions instead of doing their homework. This story has nothing to do with man-bashing.

  57. KIDDO

I will go see the movie!

  58. PrettyGirlSwag

Wooow.!!!! I am sooo excited and thrilled to see this, JOB WELL DONE AGAIN TYLER PYLER. and No Madea this time…lol….another POWERFUL MEANINGFUL MOVIE FOR US. YES!!!!!!!!

@23, I understand what your saying, but in this world sweetie MOST BLACKS are always facing a struggle, and that will never cease as long as we live in A SOCIETY WHERE WE ARE OF A COLOR THAT TO “OTHERS” represent something that is evil and ignorant. We as a people have to always face that and overcome that by coming together in which this movie will in a sense reflect the daily stuggle of BLACK WOMEN, we can only watch and listen to what we relate to the most…and TYLER PERRY AS OF PLENTY OTHER DIRECTORS have released romatinc and comedy movies daily…its very rare these days that such movies have such a powerful and intense depth to it that is of as close to reality then most movies that depict us in a more mediorcore way.

This movie kind of reminds me of how spike lee made his movies, though they were kind of strnage they always carried a message that more then likely black people could relate and understand. and it helps us as a people not only come together unconditionally but help us to understand each other vs what the world tries to make us believe about ourselves.

What I also love about this movie is alll the great black actors and actresses that are in it. That we dont get to see as much anymore in MOVIES or on TV, thats another reason why I love Tyler Perry hes always bringn the best black actors and actresses together..which you hardly see anymore these days. as sad as that is, its very true. Stop tryin to escape actuallity with reality and start facin the TRUTH.
