It is based on Ntozake Shange’s Award-winning play, ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf’ and stars Janet Jackson, Thandie Newton, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine, Phylicia Rashad, Whoopi Goldberg, Kimberly Elise, Anika Noni Rose and more. The film is expected to hit theaters on November 5th.
OK OK heres the deal this movie derived from a play written in the late seventies hence the title and the message. it one the highest honor on the stage – the tony.
That being said it is 2010 and since then we have seen this story and others like it THOUSANDS OF TIMES and it offers no NEW ideas or takes on the black females struggles(maybe introduce a facebook fight or so).
Tyler Perry holds the record for all time BEATING OF A DEAD HORSE, because this “artist” CANT EVOLVE to write, produce, direct something other than as it was previously put “woest me, my lawdy, im a black woman” script.
HERES THE DEAL BLACK WOMEN DONT HAVE ANYTHING ON AFGHANISTAN WOMEN OR NORTH KOREAN WOMEN….THE LIST GOES FREAKIN ON! and thats not even the point. the point is that ALL races struggle and if thats your unexplored negative film niche at least have the bloody insight to direct another countries struggle……….unless………..YOU ARE JUST EXPLOITING A STUPID DEMOGRAPHIC OF BLACK WOMEN WHO ONLY HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR OWN NEIGHBORHOODS AND STRUGGLES!!!!!! JANET JACKSON IS A VERY GOOD ACTRESS ACTAULLY!! WHY ARE WE AS A PEOPLE SO NEGATIVE TOWARDS EACHOTHER? YOU PEOPLE ARE ACTING AS IF ALL WHITE CAST MOVIES ARE ALWAYS LOVIE DOVIE, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH WIERD AND DEPRESSING MOVIES THEY MAKE? LOOK AT THE HOROR MOVIE SAW, IT WAS WRITTEN BY A WHITE PERSON THE MOVIE JUST SHOWS HOW EVIL AND MESSED UP THOUGHTS WHITE PEOPLE HAVE. I DO UNDERSTAND WHAT SOME OF YOU ARE SAYING, YES WE SHOULD MIX IT UP WHAT KIND FILMS WE MAKE BUT WHEN IT STARTS I BET THE SAME PEOPLE WILL START COMPLAINING.
ANYWAYZ I WAS SOOOOOOOO PROUD WHEN TYLER PERRY GOT HIS OWN MOVIE STUDIO, BLACK PEOPLE SHOULD KNOW THAT WE ARE BLESSED AND WHO GOD HAS BLESSED NOONE CAN CURSE.
My only fear was that it was not going to be as powerful as the play but from the looks of it, its going to be epic. I can not wait to see this in film.

This will be awesome to see, I research every year to attend one of the Performing Arts Center in the city of Atlanta awaiting the theatre performance “For Colored Girls”. I’m wondering will Tyler Perry direct a movie for “The Coldest Winter Ever”. That would be great as well!!!
