One of the many accusers of Bishop Eddie Long broke his silence earlier this week. 23 year-old Jamal Parris, spoke exclusively to Fox 5’s Dale Russell in Colorado and described how the bishop allegedly lavished him and other young men with gifts, cash, trips and cars in return for sex. “I cannot get the sound of his voice out of my head. I cannot forget the smell of his cologne. And I cannot forget the way that he made me cry many nights when I drove in his car on the way home, not able to take enough showers to wipe the smell of him off of my body.”
Jamal Parris, near the end of our interview, said he wanted to speak directly to Bishop Eddie Long, and he turned to our camera to do so.
“But that man can not look me in my eye and tell me we did not live this pain,” Parris said. “Why you can sit in front of the church and tell them that you categorically deny it. You can’t say that to our face. And you know this. You are not a man, you are a monster.” [ READ MORE ]

I believe wholeheartedly in the young men. This is not the sort of thing you’d say in vain, or even to get back at someone. My prayers are with them, and I hope they get all the counseling and support they need to get through this. I pray for the Bishop as well. I won’t say whether he’s guilty or innocent, but like I said, I BELIEVE THE YOUNG MEN!

After this interview with FOX I find it hard to believe the gentle men in this case. Sadly, if it is true they have all my support; but things are looking very skeptical. Are the boys scorned? YES! Should they be if this is true? YES! Does their Scorness have anything to do with the case? NO. Is it motivation for the suit? Probably. The boys are accusing Bishop of a misuse and an abuse of Power plain and simple. The were “unfairly” and “unscrupulously” seduced into these relationships with the bishop through coercion, mind games using Biblical scriptures, and money (bribes). They are alleging that these acts were intentional by the bishop. Because of the bishops actions, they are exerting that they have been emotionally harmed through his intentional and calculated acts. For these acts, our legal system provides a remedy in TORT LAW. This is not a criminal matter like so many people are trying to make it. Just like if the bishop was sued over a car accident he was involved in, it would not be a criminal matter. All the boys have to prove is that these acts by the bishop MORE IIKELY than not occurred and they were emotionally harmed by it. What we do not want to do as a society is jump to conclusion too soon. However, we have to also be careful not to continue to make excuses for the actions of our spiritual leaders. They hold us accountable every sunday via the pulpit when they rip many of our daily actions as falling short to the will of GOD. They are accountable for theirs as well. It is not the fact that this alleged fair happened that makes this suit worthy. The issue is (if its true) the WAY these relationships came about and were maintain. When you are in a leadership role (especially a powerful role the bishop holds) you are held to a higher standard and accountability. Any abuse of this power is unacceptable and our legal system provides a remedy for it.

If these things did happen between he and the bishop, he should understand that what makes bishop a monster is the molestation—-at any stage, not the fact that he used you then left when he had no need for you. However, when you are already emotionally and economically deprived and a MAN OF GOD gives you both along with the assurance your going to heaven, who knows what you would decide. We still don’t fully know the truth. I will say that all those that say he is a lover scorned is just wrong for that. FACTS/ MYTHS ABOUT SEXUAL ABUSE
Most victims know the offender very well, usually someone HIGHLY REGARDED and TRUSTWORTHY not only to victim, but THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY! They carry themselves in a way to convey that they have a high integrity so when something like being accused on abuse, it immediately sounds suspicious
Being a victim of sexual abuse WILL mentally, psychologically and emotionally confuse the individual, but IT IS NOT THE REASON THAT PPL ARE, OR BECOME GAY

No, we’re talking about young boys that DIDN’T have a stable home, or healthy relationships in their families to begin with. The young man CLEARLY states and if anyone bothered to access the claims posted online, you will see that because of most of their broken homes and background, they were easier to influence. Again, sexual abuse victims KNOW BETTER! I am truly bothered by most of the reactions to this. Just YESTERDAY my boyfriend told me about someone he knew that just told him that her daughter just revealed she was molested……THE GIRL IS NINE! Like a sorry $ss, but sadly typical mother in this particular situation…..SHE DIDN’T BELIEVE THE GIRL AT FIRST!
He also told me about another friend who’s sister went through the same thing and never said anything until the offender died. IT WAS A CLOSE FAMILY FRIEND! The woman wanted to kill herself all her life, and even when she finally decided to speak out, no one could believe what she was saying was true.
Women have to do better with choosing male role model for your children, both male and female. In most cases, the mother will stay with the creep EVEN AFTER the child reveals the abuse. Ask a lot of our black women why are so many so bitter, resentful and carry past anger issues into their adulthood? 3 out of 5 were most likely sexually abused growing up. Same for the men.

If you are a young girl and you were sexually abused, you become confused and then very angry. You have a distorted perception of adults both men AND women.
If your abuser was a man, you grow up not trusting men, BUT you have feelings of resentment for the women in your life that didn’t have your back when you tried to tell the truth. It the opposite, but also the same for men being abused by women.

we could go on and on about what is and is not socially and legally kosher. the fact of the matter is, this “bishop” is supposed to be a “man of God.” by God’s standards, what he is alleged to have done is WRONG. i don’t care if the relationship was mutual or not. using God’s holy word to justify sexual impropriety is an abomination. and no matter what modern society says, the Bible is very clear about sexual relations outside of marriage, and relations between two men. the victims’ motive in bringing the suit at this time is a non-issue. i won’t even get on the alleged misuse of church funds. just shameful all around.

When we go before God, no one can use the excuse, I didn’t do what I was suppose to do because of (fill in the blank with the typical excuse given by those who have zero intentions of going to church). We all have to stand before God on our own, and thank you Jesus, I don’t have to take Bishop Long with me, or anyone else. Here’s your good news concreteloop sisters and brothers, you don’t have to take my mess before God, you can go on your own. I get sick of comments generalizing the entire church, when we fail to generalize other things. For example, I have YET to hear one person on concreteloop dismiss rap because one rapper went to jail. I have YET to hear one person on concreteloop quit their jobs because one person is not doing their job. AND YET with the church, we will gladly sterotype an entire institution simply because of one man.
On the other hand, the real Christians in the institution, must hold the Bishop accountable. Anyway, I thought the church was creepy as well (like the commenter above). Everyone I’ve ever known who have gone to this church have all been weird and confrontational…. it’s like going to New Birth defined them; their whole world revolved around their membership there. @11, just like any other institution, business, whatever, the church is also on earth so there are going to problems within the church because this is not a perfect world which means the people inside the church are not perfect, because if they were there would be no need to go. Please stop generalizing, becasuse even tho there are more problems at the club that dont stop you from going.

You are absolutely dead on with your observations. Just like a rape victim when will we stop blaming them for what they wore and how they should’ve seen it coming. The same holds true for these boys, and why is everyone thinking that they performed oral sex and anal sex on the Bishop? It could’ve been the other way around.
I was molested by a family member and STILL have not shared this with my family. The person is dead and I know no one will believe me they will say he is not here to defend himself, also I know it will hurt other family members and I don’t want to add that to the burden that I already carry around. But I trusted this person and believe me there were subtle threats made to me about me and about those that I loved including my little sister. I was only 11 and I thought my silence would save her heartache and pain……..I guess I still do because I still haven’t told her.
I can only imagine what this boy is going though. His reference to cologne doesn’t have to mean he can’t forget in a romantic way, it could mean while he tries to live a normal life something as fleeting as an aroma can open the flood gates of things he is trying so hard to forget. I am speaking from experience because just listening to him talk has brought up things I thought I squashed long ago and I am over 50 years old!!!!
