One of the many accusers of Bishop Eddie Long broke his silence earlier this week. 23 year-old Jamal Parris, spoke exclusively to Fox 5’s Dale Russell in Colorado and described how the bishop allegedly lavished him and other young men with gifts, cash, trips and cars in return for sex. “I cannot get the sound of his voice out of my head. I cannot forget the smell of his cologne. And I cannot forget the way that he made me cry many nights when I drove in his car on the way home, not able to take enough showers to wipe the smell of him off of my body.”
Jamal Parris, near the end of our interview, said he wanted to speak directly to Bishop Eddie Long, and he turned to our camera to do so.
“But that man can not look me in my eye and tell me we did not live this pain,” Parris said. “Why you can sit in front of the church and tell them that you categorically deny it. You can’t say that to our face. And you know this. You are not a man, you are a monster.” [ READ MORE ]

Oh well. the only person who knows for sure what happened is God. So its up to Him to handle things in the long run. But while here on earth these guys just need to get on and move on. Many suffer various blows in life and the best thing to do is to learn from it hopefully and try to not let the situation rule over who you are as a person.

I’ll admit this has consumed me since the story first broke, because I KNOW what it feels like to see someone confess to their offender eye-to-eye and have them lie to you dead in your face!
There are young ppl being isolated from their own families because of this.
Sex offenders typical try to use something over their victims heads to keep them quiet. (THIS IS COERCION, AND IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT MONEY!) That means they will do any and everything like try to lay on guilt-trips and say that you are just as guilty do this as they are; therefore, if you ever told anyone, BOTH PARTIES would be punished and sent to jail. They’re (really young victims) told that if the secret ever came out, you will be taken away from your family.
Sex offenders often threaten young victims or say they will hurt family members if they ever told.
Most victims of sexual abuse that grow up in extreme poverty are the most vulnerable because offenders offer “gifts” in exchange for “favors”. Imagine going weeks never having full meals, and this person brainwashes you by offering to “take care of you” by keeping you clothed and fed and even beyond as long as you keep your mouth shut.
Imagine the burden this victims have to carry all of their lives, trying to be some what of a “martyr” for their families.
REALITY IS that VERY SELDOM do you ever hear of sex abuse victims(survivors) that finally do speak out, turn out to be lies, yet it’s easier for ppl to still be in denial when the truth comes out.
One of my main mission’s in life is to get the word out that ppl that go through this are not alone. It starts with talking to someone that can relate to this or a professional.
Too many beautiful and amazing souls die every single day on the inside because they feel they have no where to turn to.
For all the skeptics, again…..NO ONE MAKES THIS KIND OF THING UP IN VAIN! This is the WORST kind of cancer of a burden to carry on you. We need to love and be more supportive of this issue.
Again and finally, my prayers go out to the young men involved with this, you all will get through this in time. Don’t be afraid to embrace what you’re doing. You’re on the right track speaking out, and don’t let ppl tell you differently.
I pray for Bishop Eddie Long to find something in his heart to be as open and honest about this as much as possible. We ALL will have to answer to our Father one day.

so sad. at first i was saying the same thing. “a teenage dude would not go for any homo stuff, i don’t believe it,” but NOW I see that mr. long was a spiritual and father figure to these guys. they looked up to him, they loved him like a father. hell, he was basically taking care of them. hell, i have GROWN men in my family that calls another GROWN MAN @ their church “Daddy” (united house of prayer for all people). but anyway, i hope these young men get JUSTICE, and I pray that other people who have been used by so-called “men of God” will get the courage to come out.

This is not about being gay. I don’t support homosexuality under any circumstances but this is not about being gay. This is about a sexual predator who was grooming young boys in his church for sex and when they reached the age of consent he made his move. This is about an abuse of power. These boys were selected by Long because of their family situations and he tested each one until they allowed him to have sex with them. These are very weak boys and now men who are very confused about things. I think they feel rejected because when they got older Eddie lost interest. They were having sex with him but there is much more to it. Eddie long used money, power and his twisted take on faith to win them over at ages 13 and 14 and to make them “love” him. There are grown adults in this church who believe Eddie is “God”. I have read a lot about sexual predators and Eddie sounds like a text book predator. There are even coaches who do this to players on their high school teams, Teachers, relatives the list goes on and people usually never tell and continue well into adult hood (17-20). I think most of us know better but some people don’t. I think these men are strong in exposing this so we all can be more aware of it. I think there are many people who are guilty here. Mothers gave their sons to this man thinking he was going to help them become men. Little did they know what they were really doing. People in this church are also guilty because looking at Eddie Long in a muscle shirt, drippy wig, and rings it’s clear to me this man is gay. Eddie has been lying to a lot of people and others turned a blind eye because of who he was. I think his wife knew what he was up to and did nothing.
Eddie also at no time said he did not do this. He never said he was innocent of these allegations or that he never had sex with these men. This is a bad situation all the way around and not cut and dry.
Wow. Long hired a private investigator to dig up dirt on these guys. Long will come out slinging too. That’s why he said he’s not perfect and he hadnt thrown stones yet. Want to know how long that “Im not perfect” excuse will last. Long looks like he can be ruthless and those guys better play it safe because never know what Long may try to keep his empire and save face. Thats probably why dude is talking about it out loud to go ahead and get it out there. Long was already arrogant and cocky. He probably targeted them for the same reason most molestors do, if they feel you are alone and no one else has your back. Long knew their fathers were not around to whoop his behind so he didnt care. Sat there and listened to their sad story to see how vulnerable they were only to use it to make them a target. Making himself look like he saved the day and then used them. Wolf in sheeps clothing. You cant let everybody help you these days because everyone isnt sincere and will either talk about what they done for you or use your helplessness to judge and mistreat you. Wow! I am not sure what happenend, but I believe something happened – consentual or not. These type of situations happen all the time in the Catholic churches – where the pastors are having sexual encounters with the alter boys. Therefore they accusations aren’t far fetched. Manipulation is a deadly weapon. In any event, some of Eddie’s congregants will stay and some will go depending on the outcome.
@ LIS, mental, psychological and emotional confusion can lead to sexual preference confusion. (Donny Mcclurkin, Ellen Degeneres, Queen Latifah etc…all were molested and all are either gay or was gay.)
This so sad, I’m not going to leave a lengthy reply, but I really hope these men find some sort of solace and I hope that if Eddie Long (he no longer deserves the Bishop title to me), I do hope that if he is guilty, that he be held responsible for his actions.
This in no way deters me from my beliefs, you trust God and question man, even if he is a preacher, you question everything and confirm with the bible. Preachers are there as a spiritual guide; they should in no way have a FINAL say on your actions. THEY GUIDE, meaning they point you in the right direction and if it doesn’t line up with the bible, you are not obligated to follow-through. It’s as simple as that.

It is as though you were a fly on the wall in my house and heard my cries as I would constantly ask myself what did I do to deserve this and because he was THE favorite family member and an adult I was afraid to tell for fear of beatings from him or as he like to threaten me with…. being put away. For anyone reading my story sexual abuse against children can have long lasting reprocussions including chronic sadness, an underlying distrust for those in authority and low self esteem. Even if the courts rule in their favor and they are granted some monetary judgement it will never replace the innocence that was taken from them. First I would like to say… I don’t believe anything these guys are saying because if you will look at the hole true clip, if this guys is in California who? and how? did Fox find him shopping in a 24Kroger..hummmmm…also he didn’t act suprise to see the media he looked up first with a smile on his face then he got serious and starting talking, if you notice when he finish talking the smile came back to his face while getting into the care.. Second, I didn’t believe these boys came out to the public years later after being molested by the bishop at first. After watching this interview on TV when Fox 5 first aired it and seeing other evidence to show , i was convinced. The boy wasn’t prepared and didn’t expected a reporter from Atlanta to pop up on him like that. I dont believe the bishop is a sex offender. really dont believe he had sex with them. Do believe that these boys are gay and have mental issues. A lot of young men in churches are so i really dont sympathize and this guy isnt making me believe him one bit tone of his voice and non chalant attitude it is about money. i believe he bought them gifts as a father figure would they probably did fall in love with him and he rejected them for that and thats why they are mad and feel hurt.

The debate should not be whether the sex was consensual. I feel like some people are indirectly blaming the VICTIMS here. The FACT is most molestation IS consensual. Predators do not usually approach the victim and say “Hey, let’s have sex,” they are deliberate and meticulous, first making the victim trust them, and may even lavish them with gifts in order to gain trust and love. After an emotional bond is developed, the predator then attacks his prey and initiates sex. This leaves the victim feeling like it is obligatory that they perform these acts in order to maintain this relationship. The predator might manipulate them into feeling guilt, etc. This is what Eddie Long did. He began his manipulation with the boys at a VERY young age, preying on their VULNERABILITY and developing an emotional relationship with them. As soon as they came of legal age (16), he began the sexual relationship.
Eddie long is a predator. He exhibits all the signs of a pedophile. It is time we stop blaming the victims and realize that child molesters are sick people who need to be stopped. Just because the law says the boys are of age does not mean Eddie Long is not sexually attracted to young vulnerable boys. It is evident.

@ 100 Mind control is something serious. It doesn’t matter how old you are. A lot of people say he was too old to let that happen to him but he was a very vunerable young man looking for acceptance. If adults can be controlled by other adults (i.e. Hitler, Bundy, Bin Laden) then whats it for a young impressionable teen to be controlled by an adult and a very socially powerful one at that. Long picks his victims very well. He is a cold, calculating predator. He picks the boys without fathers and whose mothers are very lenient. He seduces these kids with his lifestyle and promise of love and when they become too old for him, he just pushes them to the side. He leaves them devastated and confused. I don’t care whether this young man was a gay teen or not. His being gay is not the issue. The main word here is TEEN which means MINOR. Long is an ADULT. It is illegal and immoral for an ADULT to have a sexual relationship with a MINOR. As an ADULT, Long is the one in control and should be disciplined enough to control himself. If this was a female her sexuality would not be questioned. We don’t say well after all she is just a scorned lover. No. We would be sticking up for her so why can’t we stick up for these young men who had the courage to come forth.
If this is true then well, they were grown, Eddie Long abused his power? How would he do that without anyone not noticing the financial transactions. I will allow time to tell because I too have been falsely accused by people in the church with ulterior motives. There is so much anti-Church or Christian going around in the world or power plays within the church that stuff like this doesn’t surprise me. I personally don’t believe the males. Not that this couldn’t be true but it stinks of a Michael Jackson like smear campaign. When they first came at Michael it was one thing but then when they came at him again then everyone assumed him guilty without knowing any thing. The same goes with the Church because a few people did something like this then everyone automatically believes the “victims” and Eddie Long is obviously guilty. When it come to the church there is no innocent until PROVEN guilty.
My question is this, if they were in church long enough to hear what either he said or read the bible where in their minds would it be OK to allow Eddie to continue. If the bible says Homosexuality is wrong, then why didn’t it click to them that what was going on is wrong and to stop before the first time? There is no allegation of rape and they say it was multiple times so my guess is they enjoyed the benefits and now their feelings got hurt and now they want money and to see Eddie Long fall, if it happened at all. The guy’s eyes say that he isn’t entirely truthful.
Lastly I pose this question, Who better to tell someone else not to do something than someone who is dealing with it or went through it? I wonder does the fact that your parents did drug invalidate their telling you that drugs are bad? If you have a crack head strung out asking you for money to buy drugs and they tell you that drugs are bad does that mean they don’t have the right to say something contrary to their current situation? NO! They are saying you don’t want to go down that path because it’s hard to return back or you might not at all. The same with people like Donnie who the curse of Homosexuality was in his life. He can see the way and though it may be present doesn’t invalidate the truth that it is wrong and not the way to go.
JAVON… I totally agree with your post. If everyone thinks like you this world will be a better place.. The media tried and did destroy Micheal because they assume he was guilty, but look what happen to the end. We all need to pray for all victims involved….

I am really trying to be careful and wise with my choice of words but the spirit don’t lie. This reminds me of the scripture when Jesus was talking about the hypocrites in Matthew 15:8-9. “This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their hearts are far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” And Jesus teaches some more knowledge and then Matthews 15:13-14 goes on and reads, “But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.” I feel Eddie is guilty about SOMETHING, either that or he has just been turned over to a reprobate mind, God forbid. Wake up church! There is a decieving spirit out here now more than ever. Matthew 24:24, “For there arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall decieve the very elect.” God’s word is so very direct and final, thank you Lord. When I was younger, the pastor of my church which I loved was molesting his own son and even moved his room out to the garage for easier access. The man was married, could teach and preach, but he needed to be delivered just like Eddie and everyone in this world have things they need to be delivered from. Matthew 15:11, ” Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man………verse 18-19, “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adultries, fornications, thefts, FALSE WITNESS, blasphemies.” This situation is gonna hurt the church. That’s why I hardly go to church now and dare I join because of my upbringing I CANNOT just sit up under anybody. I am praying for Eddie and the alledged victims that God’s perfect will be done. John 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judment.” Hosea 4:6, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge…..” Let us not be ignorant everyone. God is good, slow to anger, long-suffering, merciful, and a mighty terrible. Excuse my post, lol, but umm this is serious to me and I am sick and tired of lukewarm churches. Be blessed!
I don’t know yall…..seems to me that these boys were at an age where they knew right from wrong and gay vs. heterosexual activity. I think they went along with it mutually, because you just can’t MANIPULATE a teenager that’s 14, 15, 16 or 17 years old, UNLESS they are mentally slow, and these boys don’t seem slow. So a man sticks his u know what in your butt and you just sit there and let it happen and KEEP going back….yeah right. Something in the milk ain’t clean.
