Actress Paula Patton landed a role in the upcoming Mission Impossible sequel. According to Deadline.com, the Precious actress will be playing a young operative who works with Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise’s character). Oddly, the film will not be called Mission: Impossible 4. No word on what the possible title may be. The movie will be directed by Brad Bird and will begin filming in the Fall.
Director and actor Tyler Perry will be releasing a new film For Colored Girls on November 5th of this year instead of on MLK weekend in 2011 . Perry’s new release date will put the film in a position to be considered for year-end awards. The cast will include Janet Jackson, Whoopi Goldberg, Loretta Devine, Anika Noni Rose, Thandie Newton, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Phylicia Rashad, Macy Gray, Tessa Thompson, Michael Ealy, Hill Harper, Khalil Kain, Omari Hardwick and Richard Lawson. Perry’s film will be based on Ntozake Shange’s award-winning 1975 stage play titled ‘For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuf.’

I can’t wait to see ‘For Colored Girls……’
Wow thats an impressive cast for the TP movie. I just hope Maddea doesn’t make a cameo.
Another light bright gets a pass.
congrats to Paula.. if the film looks good, i’ll support.
Im definitely going to see the Tyler Perry film.
Tyler Perry got a line up and then some for this movie…way to go.
Congrats to Paula
Can’t wait to see this TP movie. It’s gonna be good, hopefully they didn’t rush to much with the deadline pushed up and all. Glad I’ll be seeing Khalil Kain in something too!
Damn Mr. Perry…do ya thang brotha!!! Very proud of you..that is an all start cast.
Paula you go girl!
congrats to paula, she’s good!
Can’t wait to see For Colored Girls… Keep it up TP, a brotha who consistently keeps black actors in work, from the og’s to the up and comers. That’s an all star cast I can’t wait to see.
yES ! THAT’S WHAT i’M TALKIN BOUT….Go Paula~!!!! and btw I love me some Kerry Washington so ya know I’ll be goin to see Tyler Perry’s next effort! BLACK HOLLYWOOD
Yes for the Tyler Perry movie getting pushed up! I’ll be seeing that!
Get it Paula!
I am soooo exited for Tyler’s movie. The cast is awesome.
Congrats to Paula, I’ve always loved her!
tyler always has a great cast. I’m happy to see him do something different!
I HAVE SEEN THE PLAY “FOR COLORED GIRLS…” YEARS AGO BY A BLACK THEATRE COMPANY WHERE I LIVE….THE THEATRE COMPANY DID A WONDERFUL JOB…I HOPE TYLER PERRY MAKES ME PROUD CUZ THEY SET A HIGH BAR ….SUMTIMES I NOT IMPRESSED BY HIS MOVIES BECAUSE THE PLAYS ARE BETTER…EXCEPT THE WHY DID I GET MARRIED MOVIES WERE GREAT
I am not a fan of Tyler Perry and his films or plays and when I heard that he was taking on this project I was mortified, I feel like he lacks the depth and creativity to take on such a heavy CHOREOPOEM, not even a conversion from book to play or play to movie…..I only hope that his cast (which is full of worthy actors/actresses) can carry this film……
My two cents: I wholeheartedly disagree with Tyler Perry creating the play into a movie. I do not enjoy any of his movies and such, I find his writing to be horrific. The cast listing of the play into a movie is great however it is not enough for me to watch this movie when released in theaters. If this movie goes well, great; but it will not get my money because of my view toward Tyler Perry’s work.
“NO WILLIE LYNCH” ISH @ LEO nothing against my lighter skin toned brothers and sisters but i was watching
t.v. and counted the number of darker skinned to lighter skinned commercials featuring
a African American in the main role or feature it was lopsided 20-8 lighter wins……
On Black targeted stations it was about even, But the content of stereotypes where overwhelming (Dr. Miracles or whatever that is,Churches chicken, WACK “Black” buster cinema movies, OOOh girl,yo bro speaking role comm. Etc.) and that was only for 3hrs
of watching…..well guess thats why I DL movies on the net and read…
TP always have a great cast but the actual movies fall short. The endings are boring and over the top. Only one that was worth a lil’ something was “Madeas Family Reunion”. I will not see this movie. Most of these actresses are in the play because of the title. Kerry Washington doesn’t even like black people. She is the only MISCAST.
And why aren’t there any dark skin M.I. girls or Bond girls. Commercials are full of light brights. Seen a list of the Top 10 breakthrough actresses. (ages 12-26) NONE are black. smh.
congrats paula!!

Paula is beautiful. I’m so happy she’s getting roles in more films.
That TP film sounds great, I’ll deffo be checking it out.
ONLY REASON SOME OF U R DOGGING OUT PAULA AND KERRY IS BECAUSE THEY ARE WITH WHITE MEN. HELL I DON’T BLAME THEM ONE BIT. ALL SINGLE BLACK WOMEN OUT HERE WAITING FOR THAT BLACK KNIGHT ON A HORSE BETTA COME TO THEIR SENSES. CAUSE THOSE BLACK KNIGHTS WITH EVERYTHING ELSE BESIDES UR BLACK ARZE, OKKKKKKKK. COLOR IS NOT AN ISSUE WITH ME AS LONG AS THAT MAN TREATS ME LIKE A QUEEN. U BETTA BET IT IS A LOT OF WHITE MEN AND OTHER RACES OF MEN READY TO DO THAT. I WILL BE THE FIRST IN LINE TO SEE TYLER PERRY MOVIES. HE IS A TALENTED BRILLIANT BROTHER AND HE KEEP IT REAL. SO U HATERS JUST KEEP HATIN. HAVE ANYONE SEE ANY PICS OF PAULA AND ROBIN’S BABY?
be traced back to the state of Oklahoma… Georgia will have a freshman backup quarterback Aaron Murray… And apparently Denard Robinson is becoming quite the passer this offseason.”Like” Dr. Saturday on Facebook for football conversations and stuff you won’t see on the blog.
