Kanye West reveals the cover for his brand new album, My Beautiful, Dark, Twisted Fantasy via his Twitter page over the weekend. However, don’t expect to see the graphic depiction, illustrated by George Condo, on shelves when the album drops, because Kanye also announced that the cover art has been banned in the United States.
Here’s what he had to say, on Twitter:

In the ’70′s, album covers had actual nudity… It’s so funny that people forget that… Everything has been so commercialized now. I know that cover just blew y’all minds… I wish y’all could see how hard I’m smiling right now!

Interesting, Kanye. So it’s going to be quite interesting to see what will be on the cover in the US when the album hit stores on November 22nd.

Kanye quit looking for so much attention…I loved the old Kanye where he was pretty quiet and his musical talent is what blew the audience away. Walmart didn’t have a big issue with the nudity, it was more so the demonic faces and because they are a privately owned company, they can make the choice on what albums to sell…trust this album won’t make or break the Walmart stock. Judging by the title, the first single; it’s video, and this banned cover, I honestly don’t know what to expect this album around. Kanye, I know you shouldn’t let your fans’ expectations restrict your creativity, but don’t stray too far from what made people first love your work for.

Whatever it is, the artwork is attempting to convey that it has turned him into some form of “monster” or “beast”, which is an allusion to the Aleister Crowley occult belief system that these people adhere to. Kanye always stirring up some ish! Okay for the lost ones, the same artist who did Power and all his other covers did this. It’s apart of the recent image. Anywho I’m neutral about the art cover. I can see how it’s dark, twisted and a fantasy. My question is, why specifically is the couch blue? Hmm…the back drop is red, and her wings and her herself is white? Hmmm those colors are familiar huh. And his ass chill with some liquor looking like an excited dumb ass. Why does she have a poke-a-dot tail? I don’t know anything is up for interpretation but to me it’s almost like a self realization of being fucked over by a bigger more powerful entity and not giving a damn (the liquor).

This is very unacceptable. Kanye is definitely taking it too far. I am all for people/artists being creative but this is just obsurd. There are many other ways to be creative. I am not even sure what I’m looking at. Does he realize he has young teens buying his music? A parent unaware of Kanye’s whimsical passion would never allow their child to buy something like this. EVEN if they were aware.
