After an appearance on BET’s 106 & Park’s 10 year anniversary special last night, Ginuwine has decided to drop his official first single, “What Could’ve Been.” The new track was produced by Melvin “Saint Nick” Coleman and co-written by Attozio and Ginuwine himself.
The track is taken from Ginuwine’s upcoming seventh album, Elgin, which is slated to drop via Notifi Music Group at the top of 2011.

I agree with Allen_J …why was most of the riffs and runs from Atozzio lol. Maybe they’ll go back and fix that but if not the song title should say “Ginuwine ft Atozzio – What Could’ve Been” because I hear him throughout the song just as much as G. Both are good singers though. Not really feeling this song, lyrics were kind of meh.
i used to be a huge fan until that lisa raye publicity stunt he pulled. he needs to patch things up with missy and timbaland, he cute i don;t like pretty men though.
If Atozzio is the other singer then he must listen to gospel music because that is straight up gospelish riffs. I think the reason he is doing them is because Ginuwine can’t. At first I was like I know J. Moss isn’t singing out there again but I quickly realized it wasn’t him because the voice quality and riff structure were no where as good as his. I’m not saying J. Moss is all that but his stuff is at a higher level then this guy. So anyway the voice sound reminiscent of a gospel singer, I don’t remember who. Even the song structure is gospel. Gin you might as well come on home!
This is boring. Record labels finally giving us some R&B music by adults…but half of it is boring…somebody please figure out how to target the adult market without putting us to sleep!

Oh yeah, if you’re gonna sing a ballad…don’t sing the same stuff we’ve heard two or three times a year for life! Take us somewhere new…or make us jump out of our chair shaking our booty…those are your options!

But kudos to El DeBarge…at least when he recorded a boring song he sang a helluva note toward the end to give us something to get excited about!
I love this song. Its about time real r&b has come back. I’ve been a ginuwine fan since jump street, before pony, but yea I’m glad he is doin his thing. I can relate to this song on so many levels.
