Kelly Rowland performed the National Anthem at the Giants—Bears game on Sunday at New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey. The singer was dressed in a bright pink jacket to help celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness month along with the NFL.

I was surprised ….I thought she couldn’t really sing why let beyonce steal all the lime light and make u look like talentless back up dancer (u should see Michelle Williams on Strictly Come Dancing OMG How awful she was with her stick legs back to the topic on hand)…So I expected the worse..SHE SOUNDED REALLY GOOD!!! its hard to sing with no music/instruments and she proved that she can sing no doubt…better than most..
i like that she did it her way but it seem a bit rushed. like faster than normal. And im sorry but she did not sing it better than beyonce.

It did seem rushed…like she just wanted to hurry and get it over with. I’m not even a Beyonce fan but Beyonce sung the hell out of that sh!t when she did it. Kelly was OK. Let’s not make it more than it was.
Yeah it was too fast and she went to far off the melody at times it made her sound
off key. Not one her best vocal perfomances.

The notes where up and down. We all know she is a GREAT singer but she did too much with this one. Keep it simple Kelly. Love ya.
she was flat a few times, and went up & down to octaves not really related to the previous stanza, but i give it a B- overall..she seemed nervous

i’m not trying to be funny but this performance proved to america why kelly is a famous backup singer…she has no tone. let me explain…she has a strong wonderful voice don’t get me wrong but her voice is not recognizable without her face. the reason why people claim that some talentless people are famous and successful is b/c some of their voices have tone and originality…(rhianna, janet, madonna) they are giving us pop and different rather than a strong voice and boredom. Jhud is really lucky she has tone b/c everytime i hear her i hear church. and everytime i hear kelly i hear amazing back up singer. she has not learned how to train her voice to give us different. and it may just be that her talent lies in the strength of her voice and this is all. not everyone with a great voice is going to be a famous singer. kelly and her fans should be lucky her career with DC was long lived and profitable. solo careers for back up singers are short lived b/c their voices do not hold the tone that is needed to stand out alone… sorry but true.

Its good…Kelly can sing, no doubt. But I’ve heard Kelly sing better. And come on, Kelly has sang the national anthem like 3 times, and none of the 3 compare to Beyonce’s. Bee’s is one of the best.

I have to agree with #18 and some of the others. I love Kelly and she is so beautiful, but when she sings live as a solo artist, she is not at her peak. I agree with DC she sang beautifully live. It just doesn’t seem like the same person. Maybe she is trying to compete with who’s out now, but she should sing in the register that works best for her or get with a great vocal coach. I want her to be great so bad, she is such a sweet person and so darn pretty!!!!

I love kelly!!!! I think Kelly voice fitted for DC and her solo attempts. But this Anthem was ok and all over the place. I understand everyone has an opinion, but when you really listen to her it wasnt great. The reason Beyonce name is mentioned alot in the comment section is because Beyonce is really talented. Her voice can do alot. I give all of the girls in DC their props, but when you really listen and listen and have a ear for music and singers you no who is the most talented one.

I donot understand this unnatural desire to compare Kelly Rowland to Beyonce.. They are TWO different people. Furthermore, whether you hate it love it or otherwise, NO FEMALE ARTIST HAS EVER SUNG THE NATIONAL ANTHEM LIKE WHITNEY HOUSTON, No one even comes close, and no one ever will. WHY? Because people are individuals as are their talents. No Kelly doesn’t sound like Beyonce, but she is definitely a better singer than Keri HIlson, Ciara, and Rihanna…As diluted as the music industry is, she will still be able to make good money if she finds better songwriters.

It was not as bad or good as people are making it out to be. It was refreshing to see a rendition that was not over-the-top, but I would like to have seen more. Apparently she had a cold, so well done for remembering that the show must go on. Stars get bashed for miming, but when they sing they still get bashed. They just cannot win.
After hearing Jennifer Hudson I gave up looking for who could do it better but Kelly can sing ..I like her high notes… very smooth.
