Pop star Rihanna appeared on Saturday Night Live this weekend and performed two songs (“Only Girl (In The World)” and “What’s My Name?”) and did a “Bonnie & Clyde” skit. Peep the videos below. Her new album, LOUD, will be released on November 10.

Rihanna KILLED the first performance. OMG she had me watching ‘What’s My Name’ three times and I didn’t tire of it. Her voice and the way she sings definitely seems to have improved. I really can’t fault her first performance, but the second one I didn’t like at all. I mean they seem like two performances from two different artists. I don’t know what happened on the ‘Only Girl In The World’ but to me it sounded like a trainwreck.
Rihanna does look great though and I LOVE her Shy Ronnie skits on SNL LOL.

Gee, she is a nice looking girl, no great beauty without her makeup, just a ordinary girl. her voice is not that good, her songs made me change the channel due to her squeling. sorry riri, but you need some songs that will fit your voice, maybe go back to your roots. sometimes when we are hurt deep down inside, we show a face to the public, but mask our true feelings. take some time to heal, do not let people push you into something you are not comfortable with.

Love her! Her first performance was the best, but I think that is only because of the difference in the mic. It had a different sound to it as opposed to the first song performance, but all in all it still was great. She seems happier and lighter in spirit than before, and I’m happy for her. She looked amazing, as she usually does, and the shy Ronnie skit was funny too. Loved her shorts that she wore during her ” Whats My Name” performance, and I still love her hair. She rocks it out and thats what I love about her. Shes original and she does not copy anybody else’s style, she creates her own and sticks to them, whether we the public like it or not. Get it Ri!!!

Very pretty girl with no stage presence and very little singing ability. She sounds the same way she did when she first came out. She can’t help it that she can’t sing. She sounds great in the studio with help from autotune. She is a video artist, u know the one who looks really pretty, in videos and lip-synchs to playback music. This is why her tours don’t do well, no one wants to pay to hear her sing live and just stand there. And I am tired of ppl saying that she is getting better. She is a professional singer, she should have been on point from the start of her career, not getting better throughout. Sorry, just my opinion
First off, the skit was funny. Kinda reminded me of the skit she did last time with Andy Sandburg. The performances however were not a work of art like her bra top (Very sexy by the way). The “Only Girl” performance is prime example of why I said this song should not have been released as a single, or released period, because she CANNOT do this song live. The studio sound of it is way to high for her to carry that on stage, so she has to sing it in monotone. “Whats My Name” should have been the single to go with in the first place since they wasted “Who’s That Chick,” because despite her lack of vocal power, it has a very easy-to-listen-to feel/pop tune with a splash of island flavor like her hugely successful “Rude Boy.” The performance of it however was a disaster, sounded like she was getting over a cold or something, had to be the only reason why she couldn’t sing a song that simple without an issue. And is the album really moved up? Nov 10 is a Wednesday, why an odd day to release an album? Why is it that while every other artist gets a two month album pushback, she gets a push UP. Damn this puzzled music industry.

She seemed to be very comfortable and I believe these smaller sets are better for her because she really doesn’t know how to work a full stage. The 2nd performance was ok and I really didn’t expect too much from it because honestly those euro/techno tracks never sound good live especially with an ethnic voice. That’s why to make those types of songs they do a lot of studio work on them. I like Rihanna because I get from her exactly what is expected and that’s cute little catchy songs. She does not have the best voice so no I’d never expect to hear anything as symphonic as Chrisette Michele, or Beyonce. Whoever chooses her music does a wonderful job because they pick exactly what fits her voice which is why she is very popular right now. She’s from the islands and if you notice there are many reggae and dancehall artists who sing specifically for their voices. This si why Sean Paul was so successful during his crossover…he never tried to hang with Jaheim or Musiq.

The skit was pretty funny, not as funny as the last one though. I didn’t like the part at the end where she takes the dude and says ‘we’re gonna go have sex’. That was so tacky! Why does everything always have to be about sex.
‘What’s My Name’ wasn’t that bad, actually pretty good. Although the bad was totally drowning her out, I think they do that on purpose though. Lol.
