Guess who was spotted shopping in Mac on Monday evening in NYC? Hint: The popular athlete turned 30 earlier this year.

It’s superstar Tennis Player Venus Williams. She was spotted wearing a colorful scarf while testing out makeup at the MAC store in NYC.

lol.. when I see her I have one Question, ” where is Serena”????
I knew it was one of the williams sisters!
no excuse to be out in public looking like that
she’s human millions of ppl walk out the house looking worse than this jus cuz she’s a famous athlete doesnt make her ‘GOD’ damn stupid
Good day,
u r correct, millions do, but it doesn’t make it right. millions committ suicide is that ok with u as well. How the heck did God get in this??? i didn’t even insult the woman, geesh! i was brought up that when u step out the house u always make an effort to look good. obviously not everyone feels the same way..lol & smh
to me…she is still beautiful…yeah she doesn’t have any color to her face but it’s very fresh face with her gorgeous high cheek bones…only thing i’m mad at is the hair wrap…i do think it’s hermes though…
She looks “weird”… whats she hiding underneath the scarf!
Her hair. You can see it poking out in the second to last picture. I don’t know why she doesn’t just rock it natural sometimes. Natural hair is beautiful.
I love the Williams Sisters. They are not only beautiful women. They are educated, intelligent business women. I love the fact that don’t have to walk around in there underwear to get attention. These are the types of women I want my niece to see.
All the makeup in the world is not going to help she or her sister Serena. The two ugliest women to ever come ot of compton. Serena looks like a brothera and venus a dog.
Right!! LMAO
Thank gawd it’s not Serena, can’t take looking at her mug, not today.
I don’t even look like that in the privacy of my own home. DISGUSTING!!!!
chill out dude!
i guessed it right…. and umm i hate when black women be goin outside with a scarf on. she should have worn a cute hat.
“Black” people are so incredibly mean and hateful towards each other. Malcolm X once said that you can asses the state of a people by the way they treat their women. By the way we hurtfully judge the use of a head scarf worn outdoors (a fashion made popular in the 60s) and call our women (who have beautiful AFRICAN features) ugly, we the African American people are in a VERY sad & self-loathing state. Maybe THIS day, she just didn’t feel like being a slave to others opinions (like so many “black” people. ”
“If I show my hair….they’ll see my naps”
“If I put on a scarf…they’ll think I’m ghetto”
We need to let each other JUST FUCKIN BE ALREADY!!!!!
AMEN!!!! this is by far the best comment I’ve ever read on this site… people need to practice self love more often..
amen Amber…i totally agree. We have no pride in ourselves and always try to look like someone else. When you can go out in public without all the paint and costume, it shows confidence in YOU..to hell what others think..go Venus! All these bitches who hating not even making 1% of the cash you are so let them talk, its what makes them feel good about themselves
So true, Amber. So true. Thank you for that comment.
Self-hate is horrible, but yet so present in out society today.
There is nothing wrong with wearing a head scarf, However, a head scarf should look fashionable and beautiful. A lot of black women wear their scarf looking like they are going to work on a plantation. Again, you should not even look like that in your own home. It has nothing to do with hate, but everything to do with the way you present yourself.
present herself to whom? she answers not to you or me, but to herself. maybe she didn’t think so hard about it, because it doesn’t matter to her as much as it seems to matter to so many of you. she could buy the store if she wanted to!!! “blacks” have enough critics & esteem baggage to deal with, so like i said, we need to get off each others (including venus’!) back.
At first glance, I thought this was “Miss Jay” from ANTM. Ooops!
My second glance was right on target… I wasn’t sure which one, but I knew it was one of the Williams sisters. I love that scarf. I don’t think there is anything wrong with wearing a scarf in public… Now if that was Heidi Klum with some blonde hair dangling from underneath y’all would think it was “fly”. So… shut up. I like the scarf; however, the rest of her attire is indeed questionable. Then again, she is an athlete. Maybe she had just left the gym… and decided to hit up the M.A.C. counter… (side eye).
Why must there always be a comparison to white woman. Fact is she look sloppy, it has nothing with having white skin and blonde hair.
Why must there always be a comparison to a white woman?
My comment had nothing to do with the fact that she (Heidi Klum) was a White woman, but that Venus was ANYthing other than the typical standard of beauty. But now that you mention it, a Black woman and a White woman wearing a scarf on their head in public hold two totally different connotations. Like it or not, it’s true. Granted, it does depend on HOW the scarf is worn, but it’s “different” all the same.
i knew it was one of them…..can tell by those arms
I love VEE!
i knew it was one the W sisters…the scarf is cute, I dont get why some people are upset about it. She doesnt look happy to see the paps though…her face reads: C’mon son..hahaha…and I agree with the above poster, I wish they would just wear their natural hair sometimes…the weaves be a bit mmm off…but both are beautiful women, some of yall are DEAD wrong with the comments
Beautiful… *nuff said*
When Venus and any of us meet our Maker be sure He won’t be worryied about whether or not you wore a scarf in public. How did we get so low as a people? Maybe all these strong bitter black women raising cowardly men and promiscuous women whose self esteem is in the fake wigs they wear. We use to teach our kids the importance of honesty, modesty, integrity and most that we are to God, ourselves and our parents. We used to tell our kids to be proud of who they are not the weave, the light skin tone, the big behind or for our men that walking around showing your underwear, twisting those lock like they make you somebody other than a target for the racist cop. No more say it loud I’m black and I’m proud. No more be your self. No more respect your elders. Now it’s all about materialism. Hopefully you Negroes will take off your slavery and be the proud desendents of the greatest people God ever made!
