Keyshia Cole already serves up a new single in the form of “Long Way Down,” produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League. The track is taken from her forthcoming fourth studio album, Calling All Hearts, which Keyshia says will find its way to stores December 21st.
It’s ok. Her music is changing a lil too much.
I agree. It’s nothing to write home about. I love Keyshia#s vocals but this song is just OK to me. Are her record company trying to make her more pop? Because all the songs I’ve heard since she’s come back out have been…OK.
How the hell is this pop? How is this even a change for her? Did you not remember songs like “I Thought You Had My Back” from The Way It Is? Trust me, there was a few and that was her first album. Please feel free to get your head out of your ass before responding.

I’m a Keyshia fan, love her ballads too but something about this song in particular is a bit boring. It has no Umph, like the songs “Love”, and “I Remember” had. The vocals fall a little flat, and it actually sounds like a Leftover from “The Way It Is”. Like SPARKD said, it’s a good album filler but not a good single choice. Which is surprising because Ron Fair is usually up on his shit, so I’m assuming Keyshia had some control with this selection.

I rather have heard this as her first single than that corny song she got out w/ Nicki Minaj…This song is aight tho nothing special. Seems like ever since she got wifed up and became a mother her music seems boring and less feeling in her music. Get it together Keyshia! Cuz I know if homeboy would ever cheat on you or leave you then I know you’ll be able to make hit songs!!

i like the song, i’ll probably grow to love it. i admit that it isn’t as strong as some of her other material but it’s still way better than most of the stuff on the radio. i love keyshia and i will be getting the album when it’s released.

I actually think Keyshia showed major promise with her Kanye-assisted debut single “I Changed My Mind.” Then, she fell into typical R&B melodrama. All that changed with her last album. It was vibrant, fiery, sexy and had substance. This song continues in that same direction. Keep doing what you do Keysh. I’m becoming a fan.

I think this song is really nice and contemplative…you need a few of those on an album to help round it out. As far as music changing…that’s happening across the board. Seems like someone turned down the Rhythm and Blues, Gospel, Jazz and Soul and replaced it with 80′s sound clones. We captured that wonderful electronic sound but a lot vapid and plastic lyrics abound. If you wanna go back there…make the sound rock better than it did add your own shit…I’m hoping for a return to talent! Get those lyrics right together and that doesn’t mean just throw a hook and rap on top of it.
