Rapper Nicki Minaj covers the December issue of Billboard just before the release of her solo debut album, Pink Friday, which will be released November 23. In the cover story, Nicki discusses former jobs, getting respect from the guys and more. Check out a few snippets:

“The last job I had was as an office manager in a little, tiny room where I literally wanted to strangle this guy because he was so loud and obnoxious,” Minaj recalls. “I would go home with stress pains in my neck and my back. That’s when I went to my mother and said, ‘Look, I’m not going back to work.’ I’d been fired like 15 times because I had a horrible attitude. I worked at Red Lobster before that and I chased a customer out of the restaurant once so I could stick my middle finger up at her and demand that she give me my pen back. I swear to God I was bad.”On getting more respect, especially from the guys
“When I do songs like ‘Monster,’ when I’m on a record with Jay-Z and Kanye West, when I’m on a record with Wayne and Em — I definitely think the dudes give me respect,” Minaj says. “They haven’t come easy but I think people are starting to give me more props.”On “Roman’s Revenge”
“‘Roman’s Revenge’ is where I’ve become a different human being,” Minaj says. “I didn’t give a damn who I offended, whose feelings I hurt — this needed to be said, and it cracks me up when I listen to it. “I started to record by myself and I lost track of what I was doing and who I wanted to be,” she says. “It wasn’t until I linked back up with Wayne that he gave me this speech. He said, ‘What happened? You were hot,’ and it just hurt me so much. I wanted to prove to him that I was still hot. It hurt my ego so bad that I went back with a vengeance.”

i’m certainly not a fan of Nicki Minaj and I wanted to read this article to get a glimpse of her personality and see maybe another side of her. The interview came off as very cocky rather than humble. I thought she did an interview where she said Roman’s Revenge wasn’t about anyone but now in this interview she is bragging. Who could she have possibly offended because to me she can’t begin to compare to any of the former female hip hop artists…She was a nobody underground until she got her surgery and opened her legs wide for publicity as she copied Lil Kim. I’d respect her more if she wasn’t cocky. Her lyrics are not saying much. She’s a great entertainer I’ll give her that and she’s on top right now because there are no other female rappers out. Old MC’s should be out of the game (male and female) and producing up and coming new artist. No one has really invested for the long haul successfully but: Timberbland, Dr. Dre, Pharell, Missy Elliot and Jay Z. There is more money in producing than performing now days. You have to literally sell your a** to make money now a days. I fully respect Niki Minaj and her talents, but I am not liking her fake appearance. It is all a show and it increasingly becomes difficult to see her for who she really is. At first when I saw her, I was like wow what an amazing body and pretty face, but then there has been increasing rumours that she did a lot of medical work to enhance her body ranging from ass enlargement to breast and facial arrangements. I mean rumours will always be rumours, but she has not denied any of this. And as I look at her now, her body and mostly her face is looking so cosmetically fine tuned.
