Kelis premieres the Rankin-directed video for “Brave”, the fourth single from Flesh Tone, which was released earlier this year. The track, co-produced by will.i.am and Benny Benassi, is based on her failed marriage with rapper Nas.

Girl, miss me with this boring ass video and song. Honestly, she fell off after her 1st album (her 2nd one was pretty good but her 1st album was pure perfection). That entire album was on repeat for a year straight. Flesh Tone, however, is a hot stinking pile of gutter dumpster trash. I listened to every song and yearned for a glimmer of the old Kelis. Nothing wrong with switching your style and growing but she took a sharp left and left me right in the middle of the road.
The video is REALLY simple, but not all videos have to be an action packed blockbuster…lol. I’m not into this new sound but the lyrics were cool. I’m so glad she revamped her look from that tired and bizarre gray avatar braid and weird styling. She looks beautiful, loving the hair and makeup.
