Check out singer Keri Hilson‘s new video for her second single, “Pretty Girl Rock” from her upcoming album, No Boys Allowed. In the video, Hilson pays homage to past and present day pretty girls/women of the music and entertainment industries (Janet Jackson, Donna Summer, TLC and more). The video was directed by Joseph Kahn.

The video was creative….she played every character pretty well for the MOST part…
The first character was a little cheesy and out of her element…she didnt pull it off…and the Donna Summer character…she was enjoying a little Beyonce with that one lol…
But the video was hot! She had TLC DEAD ON!!!! I died when i saw that part! Even though dancing is clearly not her strong point (the left eye and chilli look-a-likes were outdoing her pretty bad lol), good job.

I dont really endorse her dancing but I love the different characters that she portrayed, her look is so diverse- some contacts and diff hair colour= diff woman. Anyway, I love the song and the video is cute. Well done Keri! Solange had a video exploring the decades, Erykah Badu also portrayed other hip hop artists in her videos so this is a deja vu, but still, it’s a good video & I wish her more success. She is beautiful. If she didnt came in the game the way she came, she would have been further by now. It’s coming.

Keri looked good in the video and she sounded really good too. I think this song really suited Keri, because she is an arrogant person. And that is not a diss. You can tell when she was singing this song she believed the lyrics, they were coming from the heart. And that’s no shade. This young lady has a well established resume. No she may be a superstar but she has been writing behind the scenes for years for some of your favorite artists until she decided to step out and make an appearance from behind the scenes. Why would she tribute the queen beyonce if Keri basically got signed when destiny child was signed. only reason Keri Group did not go far and broke up is because Elektra records tried to make keri leave the group as a solo artist and it broke thhe whole group up. I first heard the song when I watched the video just now and I’m really liking it. And I’m no fan of Keri Hilson but I love the video concept and think she pulled it off to pay homage to the women she portrayed.
The video created a humbleness you don’t hear with the audio version alone so I wonder if I would like this song if I only ever heard it on the radio and if maybe that’s why some people have called the lyrics childish. Either way I think Keri’s got a hit on her hands!

I didn’t say anything about her writing her albums and she will often tell you who wrote her songs because she’s not ashamed of it and she knows how it feels as a writer to not be given the credit by artists so she always makes sure to list who wrote songs for her. She doesn’t try to take writing credits like Beyonce, whom I love as a songstress, but some things about her don’t impress me either. It’s a give and take with all these artists. Keri is part of The Clutch and many of the interviews I’ve seen her in she mentions that. You have a personal issue with her that shouldn’t be personal to you at all…IT surely didn’t bother Bey and honestly it was a comment that was not directed towards Bey. IT was blown out of proportion and many ppl assumed who she was talking about. Perhaps Neyo felt she would be a good fit for the song he wrote and she took it on…my goodness you read so deep into things…first understand the business behind music and stop taking things so personal.
