Up and coming female rapper Rapsody (also known also by the stage name Mara Jade), released a new mixtape ‘Return of the B-Girl’ this week. The versatile artist is signed to Grammy Award Winning Producer & DJ 9th Wonder’s label, It’s A Wonderful World Music Group.
According to Rapsody, she is ready to make her presence be known in the game, as well understanding her responsibilities as a woman and role model.
“I want to make good music and be a role model to little girls, especially little black girls, that’s REALLY important to me” she confirms.
never heard of Mara Jade before, but she kinda went off, gone head….I don’t like her voice. I can’t explain it. Jus didn’t like her tone. But i was bobbin my head.
Omgosh I was thinking the same thing. Her voice doesnt do it for me but I was kinda likin the flow. I feel if I heard her on the radio I wouldnt mind but she wouldnt be on my iPod.

You brought it way back with the mentions of the songs; you know your stuff. I do like the sound of the song by Mara Jade called “I’m Ready”, I find Mara Jade’s style of rap is more interesting than the first song posted.

I know everybody wants something other then Nicki Minaj, but this isn’t it. She doesn’t stand out and the songs are really boring. I went into this hoping for something good,but this didn’t do anything for me.
Why does every female artist that comes out have to be compared to Nicki minaj. From what I see none of the females were recognized until Nicki came out
Her voice isn’t that pleasant to listen to. And the beats are outdated. “Real hip-hop” doesn’t have one sound – which I think is a very big misconception.
She’s talented though. Very good delivery. But again – if people don’t want to listen to you because of your voice, then what’s the point.

well i’ve been listening to/going to her and her crew’s shows for years now (went to the same college and all that). personally, i think that she does have a lot of talent, she’s a good stage performer and i hope she’s successful.
