Music Icon and the Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin has been reportedly diagnosed with cancer. According to a variety of reports and a source from the Detroit Free Press, the star has pancreatic cancer and is recovering after she underwent major surgery last week.
Although Franklin and her camp have not confirmed the reports of Cancer, she had this to say:
“God is still in control,” Franklin said in a statement after her surgery, which was deemed “highly successful.” “I had superb doctors and nurses who were blessed by all the prayers of the city and the country.”
Franklin has been visited several times by the Rev. Jesse Jackson, said Wednesday that she was “recovering very well” from surgery.
In related news the star hasn’t had the best of year, her son, Eddie, was beaten by three men at a Detroit gas station back in September. And a month earlier, she broke ribs in a fall, causing her to miss two free concerts in New York.

My prayers go out to Ms. Aretha and her family. She is an icon in the industry. Lift her up people.
I pray that she heals but why lie and say you had gastric bypass earlier this week?
Wishing Ms. Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin a speedy recovery. I hate at her age she is stricken with cancer. My heart dropped when I heard this. Like she said though “God is in Control”.

it’s the worst one to have. Even though he recovered in returned and took his life 3 years later. He was in shape too

The Queen of Soul has served as a blueprint to the fabric of American Music. I am lifting her and her family in prayer and hoping that she makes a full and speedy recovery. Never count the Queen out. She is a praying woman!!!

When I heard this I cried, I been listening to her music since I was 3 years old from my dad playing her records around the house and I’m 30 years old now, I’m heartbroken, she is my idol, hopefully God can help her with this difficult time and my prayers with her.
Nothing happens for a reason. God is not in control. If he was why did she get cancer. Black people stop saying this to make yall feel better. This is unfortunate. Hope she gets better.

God is defiantly good all the time…my prayers to her as pancreatic cancer is almost always terminal. Hard to diagnose so they usually don’t catch it until its in stage 4….

cool…. No age gap is too wide if you both feel so right.We don’t care about the social “norm” but chemistry. Many couples with age gap work out fine and get alone splendidly.
