TV BIT: NICKI MINAJ ON CHELSEA LATELY

Nicki Minaj stopped by the Chelsea Lately show on Monday evening (December 13). The nearly gold artist talked jokingly about her rear end, elaborated on the double standard of being a woman in the music business and the type of man she’s attracted to. Minaj also explained her alter-egos: Nicki, Roman, Martha (Roman’s Mom), Barbie, and her newest personality, Rosa:

In the music, I have Nicki, I have Barbie, I have Roman, I have Martha (who’s Roman’s mother). I made up a new one the other day called Rosa. Nicki is the regular accent girl from southside Jamaica, Queens. Barbie is like, ‘Um, okay I get it. I guess it’s time for me to put my ***** on your sideburns.’ That little soft voice. And then Roman is like, ‘Is this the thing I get for puttin’ you b**ches on! Is it my fault that all you b**ches gone?!’ You know he’s like crazy. He’s a gay boy. He’s very flamboyant and into himself.

Lawd…Lol. Peep the video.

With just a week away from the release of her sophomore album, No Boys Allowed, material from Keri Hilson is beginning to surface.

In addition to “Toy Soldier” leaking, Keri has definitely been hard on the promo trail. She’s been making all the stops at all the best TV shows. It’s no surprise, considering that No Boys Allowed hits stores next week, December 21st.

CL ALBUM REVIEW: R. KELLY’S LOVE LETTER

♫ R. Kelly – Number One Hit

As the year 2010 comes to a close, R&B crooner R. Kelly is officially making his return to the music scene with his 10th studio album, Love Letter. Following his refreshing performance on the Soul Train Awards last month, the music veteran has made it clear that his forthcoming album will be nothing like your typical, modern-day “R&B” album, filled with heavily synthesized pop and hip-hop sound influences. As a matter of fact, this album slightly shows influence from either music genre.

Before hitting play, one can’t help but be curious about what the album has in store. The cover alone foreshadows some kind of old-school project, as Kelly from the times of singer Ray Charles. Nonetheless, the album kicks off with a very candid, yet soothing prelude to his single “Love Letter”, as he briefly addresses and dedicates his album to his devoted supporters as well as his nay-saying haters.
