A Keri fan but these songs are not half as good as the stuff she writes for people. Then again she is an artist much like Ne-Yo so this project seems to come from that stand point not my cup of tea, will probable do ok. Keri’s first album was actually okay. I would give it 3 stars. The lyrics were easy to write, but many of them had some type of meaning or related to females and a good amount of the songs had banging beats. This material is just so lukewarm and isn’t “IN” or creative. I don’t know why people think she is supposed to be for the mid 20′s to 40′s crowd because her music has no soul or depth like Jasmine Sullivans or Monica’s. That’s her problem; she doesn’t really have an audience. Plus, she sells sex to the fullest and I’m tired of all of these sex puts in this industry. Keri’s voice is horrible, she can’t sing live, she doesn’t really write her own songs and even then the lyrics suck or are generic. She isn’t anything fresh and new. BTW many people don’t like her because of her hypocritical and contradicting comments, and her disses to female artists whose levels she isn’t on. It’s funny how you call people haters but guess what, we going to be “haters,” not buy her album, and cause her to flop.

The album sounds like a decent 2nd effort from Keri Hilson. I am a “Keri Hilson” fans, but her 1st album had some decent hits on there, eventhough all of the singles she released had guest artists on them.

Im surprised she didnt have more feats on the album, she thinks she can do it by herself but I still think she needs some hot artists to help her. She didnt establish herself yet as a relevant artist and I dont think the album will build her either. Im listenning to the preview & she changed her sound, sounds nice to me but, is it enough to make her rise? I dont know. I was expecting much more and my advice to her is to change her producers & whole team, still riding Timbaland & Pollow’s dicks while there are hot or unknown producers who make better quality job. Be versatile enough as well. It’s a risk to take and it’s gonna pay. The album will flop. I will download or listen on youtube, dont buy.

She has decent vocals, “decent” writing skills (as a writer I don’t think her lyrics have a lot of depth and she mostly cowrites with a team) and she is attractive (I have met her in person several times and she is average but with glam team she does look very attractive) but I just don’t see her having success. She has so much promotion and features from everyone—and a break from Beyonce—Keri should be taking over the world—instead she is going backwards. I do think it has a lot to do with Polow and her lack of being downt to earth. I have listened to her interviews and its like she says what she thinks we want to hear. It just seems contrived to me. I think Keri’s great. She just needs an overhaul with her career. I feel that there bleeding out the artist that she is with the blonde hair and over sexed songs. She has very distinct sound and point of view that when she’s allowed to do it, is magic. It just sucks that there only a few tracks on this album that hint at it. It’s not her fault, it’s just the music business. Hopefully, she’ll get the opportunity to do a third one. If, so she should take her time and do mixtape EP to test her sound and direction.

#1 – Great job on the cover. She looks very pretty. I’m not sure how I feel about the blonde hair. But, it works here.
#2 – Pretty Girl Rock is a great song. I know a lot of people hate it. But, it’s super catchy, she dances a bit in the video and it has a nice concept / overall message.
#3- Which is why I was so surprised by “The Way You Love Me,” which in my opinion was a sad song for a number of reasons. Namely, the lyrics showed Keri in rare, sad form. In addition, the video just made her look desperate. It’s ok to do crazy, but you’ve got some other women in the industry who’ve done crazy that did it better. That did sexy but did it better. It’s ok to be different, so long as you have a purpose.
I will not buy the album, because I’m not that big of a fan. I just think TWYLM and PGR have conflicting messages. I don’t think she has to be the same person in every song. But, TWYLM totally flies in the face of all the things she said in interviews.
