NEW MUSIC: DR. DRE FEAT. EMINEM & SKYLAR GREY – “I NEED A DOCTOR”

January 28th, 2011

♫ Dr. Dre feat. Eminem & Skylar Grey – I Need A Doctor

Dr. Dre drops what he’s calling the first single from his often delayed but highly anticipated album, Detox. The new single, “I Need A Doctor,” features Eminem and the vocals by Skylar Grey.

It seems as though this time around, Dre is going for a collaboration album of sorts, with him to helm most on production, and a flurry of features, much like Timbaland has done with his Shock Value series. Rumored cameos include J. Cole, Lloyd, Lady Gaga, Ester Dean, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Game, Pharrell and T.I., just to name a few.

Detox is slated to hit stores sometime this year.

Obviously this dude Brian has never heard a Dr. Dre album in his life. ALL of his albums are mostly features by different artists with him on the production. Timbaland just follows suit.

As far as the track, it’s okay. Pretty typical coming from these two. I’m starting to think it just came from Em’s last album

    Dumbed By The Drum

Ya’ll kids on an I V and don’t even know it. You’re loosing your sense of creativity every single day you listen the crap that’s being played on the radio. The kind of people who think dumb retarted Gucci Man is an artist. The real sad part about it is you’re the likes of people who are killing the Music Industry. Your lust for gabarge that makes you dumber after each time you listen to it. I feel sorry for your generation because you don’t know what real music is anymore. You’ve become a generation of haters and lovers of nothing but destruction, and if you don’t wake up you’ll become a slave to your own vices.

With that being said this song is relavant, and pretty dope in my opinion. I could have done without dre’s rap at the end, because Slim pretty much had it. Dre’s verse didn’t make the song worse but it didn’t help it either.

But guarantee this the song is a nice sizzle piece and a great song to reintroduce Dre who’s a real producer, not a beat maker. He was around when you couldn’t depend on a computer to help you with your production a time when everyone in L.A. wasn’t a producer and didn’t even know what a producer was. A time when producers couldn’t use Apple Loops in Garage Band to put together “Love in This Club” Just like Jazz in my grandparents days, so is the same with Hip Hop,

I agree wholeheartedly Dumbed by the Drum. I keep trying to find and listen to relevant music that is actually music. It disgusts me that people who can halfway dance and sing-a-long to a dat track are actually popular and considered singers and artists. I can’t believe some people’s names like Nicki Minaj and Britney Spears are mentioned in the same breath with Michael Jackson and Prince. No seriously, popular music is a joke nowadays, just easy consumption of b.s. by a lot of teenagers who don’t know the first thing about REAL MUSIC. Everything nowadays has a fancy throbbing beat made from some MAC program or Digidesign. You can make even the worst singer pitch perfect in the studio but they can’t sing live and give their fans a true music experience. Please don’t let me even get started on these so called rappers either. Pure garbage Gucci Mane, Waka Flaka Flame…(what in the world!)

It’s sad that many of you whom have commented on this post are grown adults. You sound like children whose parents allowed them an allotted amount of time on the internet. “you’re rich, white,…” Nice racism, you sound like an outstanding human being. That implies that black people by comparison shouldn’t be happy because they are black, but of course I wouldn’t expect people of such low average intelligence to understand how they’re embarrassing their own race. “Truth”. Get a job, invalid.
