Singer/songwriter Marsha Ambrosius stopped by 106 & Park to promote her new video, “Far Away.” The song and video has been getting a pretty good buzz on the internet since it’s release a couple of weeks ago.
Her solo album is slated to hit stores soon and will be titled, Late Nights and Early Mornings.

Trust me if you lost weight, you definitely wouldn’t wear the same things from when you were heavier. She posted a video of her trying on her old clothes on youtube. They looked good then, but as you get older your style changes.
I agree Rehabkid213..Even though she lost weight, she no longer has the afro-centric look that she once did. Her new image has no self of culture, like before. She’s get looks like all the other R&B chicks out there. The industry has definitely go a hold of her!

Why? So what it’s thinner than the bottom one; plastic surgery and injections are NOT the answer to all of life’s problems! What’s with everybody faking themselves up anyway? What ever happened to “being yourself” and “being comfortable in your own skin”? Everybody has imperfections; hell, I wish my toes weren’t so damn skinny, but that doesn’t mean Imma run to the doctor to get toe injections! Besides, Marsha is a very beautiful woman and doesn’t need any changing. Her lips are fine as they are.
She looks good with the weight loss, however, there was nothing wrong with her in the first place. The industry has everyone thinking they have to be pencil thin. It’s sad that only gospel singers are aloud to be big. JMO-
Honey, it’s people like you who make it seem like being fat and obese is okay! She was obviously overweight. No one in the world should be overweight, why do you think we have the BMI scale? We all have different body types, but to fat is not acceptable. Even Jennifer Hudson figured that out and she looks great. Besides, Marsha’s not even skinny. She’s toned and thick.

I think she looks beautiful — i remember when they asked her about her weight before – she said this is the way she USED to look (before floetry) — so its not that dramtic.
I love her and I miss Floetry. Marsha wrote one of my favorite Micheal Jackson songs…..Butterflies. He called her label when he heard her version asked if he redo it. She agreed and flew her out to his home in CA at the time when his kids were younger than they are now.

Being overweight is unhealthy. It has absolutely nothing to do with conforming to anyone standards of what size you should be. Every individual should decide what size is best for their health and maintain it. Black people have got to stop with that stupid notion that they are suppose to big. No, you are suppose to be HEALTHY.

It really grinds my gears when people assume that just because a former big girl loses weight it’s because of society or the industry when it could have been based solely on her opinions. Because when she was in floetry no one said, “hey the industry is forcing her to look as cultured as she is. . .eww”. Plus I’m pretty sure you guys (fans) wanted her to lose weight while she was a bit bigger now when she does for whatever reason, it’s, “damn her for feeling pressured by society”. What the hell?! No one expects all people to be skinny, but people should maintain a healthy ( not fat) weight. Gospel singers should not allow themselves to look like walking houses, but many of them do. There is a reason why the bible states that GLUTTONY is a sin and that people are digging their own graves with a spoon. Gospel singers break break God’s laws against over eating and they set a bad example for the world.
Most Black people in general think being slim means being sickly. I know people that says I look good at 5’7″ and 170 lbs. I might look good but this extra weight is putting too much pressure on my small bones. I’m feeling it big time. Can’t run up the stairs without sounding like I’m having a asthma attack. We have got to start thinking of our health.

I have just been reading some of the above comments & I am in total shock. Marsha is a beautiful, gifted talented woman. Isn’t the focus supposed to be on her superb God given talent as a writer & a vocalist? I understand that people are entitled to their opinion but my gosh is not a thought spared for how you might make someone feel with your negative comments!
