Take a minute to check out the trailer for Single Ladies, the upcoming series premiering on VH1 later this year from Queen Latifah’s Flavor Unit Entertainment and starring Stacey Dash, LisaRaye McCoy and Charity Shea.

Originally shot as a film, the series centers around three friends: Val (Stacey Dash) is an ambitious aspiring fashion mogul who wants to find a true partner. This seems more like a movie than a TV show. I hope it’s worth watching.

I support Inter/racial relationships! I believe love has no color!

This club is for those of us that don’t discriminate! This is to all my people who don’t care about somebody’s ethnic background, just how they are on the inside.

If you want to find a sincere Inter/racial relationship. If you are serious. Come and join us!

Love should be color-blind;who focus on what other say and see to much. People are like books “Never judge one by it’s cover.” Just because it is pretty on the outside does not make the inside good. Look beyond the rose color’there is a surprise inside.

i was thinking the same thing…movie…but i will be watching the black sex in the city/lipstick jungle…hopefully it has longevity!

  5. MsPrettyWise(for a youngblood)

@Jordan, u said it. this aint nothing but a black sex and the city. lol. And they should just had kept as a movie not a series. But hey, im still gonna watch it. Hopefully its worth it.

  6. ERIC

Why do most movies about black females have to be about them keeping a man, losing a man or cheating on a man? Is there nothing else to life but the pursuit and happiness of sex? Are we as men and women really that simple?

    • waitingonrealsoulmusic

yep…so true.. a lot of us are simple as hell….. they simple dumb and followers… some of us want to run our own business some of us want to be millionaires some of us want to be great mothers or fathers some of us want a promotion at work.. some of us want to do missionary work some of us are confused as hell but not all of us just think about sex!!!!

    Just two questions:

    1. Why do most African-American shows have to have a white person in the lead role (The Game)? Couldn’t that role be given to another minority (Latino, Asian, etc?)

    2. Does Hollywood think that Atlanta is the ONLY city black people live in?

    ….I’m just saying.

    • Kay

Replying to #2 Thank you for saying that!! I was thinking the same thing black people don’t just live in Atlanta!!!

    • ...

I look at it as a compliment to my city. Now Atlanta can be filmed just as much as New York is.

Also, the real reason film makers are flocking to GA is because of the Georgia Entertainment Industry Investment Act which was signed into law. They get a tax credit for making films here.

And too, don’t white shows have at least one person of color on the roster somewhere?

  8. CandiKane

Yeah Bitch!!! Its another one… (Black Show)… Show love and support… cant wait:-)

  9. JUDAH

The executives in Hollywood are making alot of money off of the buffonery of “independent black women”. Every reality show, or tv series seems to be about some 35-50 year old black woman/women clamoring for attention, and a chance to relive her/their adolescence.

  10. thickems

    Looking forward to it!
    I love LisaRaye ♥

  11. Mr.GQ

Wow so much NEGATIVITY ,but I think the show looks interesting I’d rather watch this than Basketball Whores and Football Jump-offs

  12. girlbye

funny how Lisaraye’s character explains her

  13. You Know

WON’T (I REPEAT) WON’T BE WATCHING IT! Black women barely get work in Hollywood, as it is, and the minute there is a storyline around “black” characters there always has to be a white person in one of the major parts (i.e.: how come there are not other black wives on the Housewives series, but on the Atlanta series there is Kim? *note: I realize that DC has now added a black woman, but that was one of the last to be added to the franchise).

Additionally, I’m not impressed with any of the women in starring roles (except for LisaRey, I do like her swag).

WILL NOT! WILL NOT! BE WATCHING THIS!

  14. Kay

Why is every movie or T.V. Show black people do has to be labeled buffonery!! I am so sick of that if you don’t like it don’t watch it!!

    • @Kay

I totally agree. If we took the most successful and popular white shows/movies and put all black people in it – other blacks would still find something to say about it. It would still be called “coonery”, “buffonery”, etc.. I swear we are our own worse enemies.

  15. Dwiight you ignorant slut

Coony McCoonerson presents Cooning to the oldies!!!! With hits like

“a sassy black woman trying to find a man”

And who can forget the classic

“giiiirrrrrl please these are the games u gotta play to gitcho man”

    And the holiday classic

“I saw a real screenwriter get run over by a reindeer in the African American t.v. Watching community”

And you can see them all for the low low price of your intellect!!!!!!

  16. SadieBaby

NONE OF THOSE WASHED UP FOOLS CAN ACT IN MY OPINION. Will not be watching….. **yawns and turns channel smh**

  17. LeeLee

What would be a good story line for black female actresses? The fact of the matter is, there are quite a few single ladies out there and the relationship topic will always come up. Just the way it is.

    • ERIC

But the relationship topic doesn’t always have to be the main focus. Let it be a supportive element to a story placed in medical school, dance school, wall street, something dealing with a worker’s union, etc.

  18. Damian in Dallas

    Epic failure!

  19. nelle

Okay let me start by saying this how is this a black show when there is that token white girl who of course dates a black man? I don’t understand tv shows no more this looks very basic. What I don’t like is how the show coming off looks like RHWOA(Real house wives of atlanta) like we need a other show like that

  20. Rella

    Definitely Will Check It Out!

  21. Sharondiva

    seems like a hot show…

  22. KCW3

    The show looks pretty good!

  25. mrs. michael jackson

Wow! I could not get into that show at all and I’m def not a fan of any of the actresses.

  26. mrs. michael jackson

Ok ok honestly I watched it for about half an hour then I was clicking back between another show but that’s because it turned out to be exactly what I thought it would. They just had to make one of the characters lisaraye (keisha) a golddigger.

  27. Monisa Cole

It’s a shame that when we get a chance to do something new, too many people are to critical of the whole thing. What is wrong with the new sitcom. I like it there are a lot of beautiful women on the show for you men. Noticed I said beautiful women, because there are some white women that are beautiful as well. Let’s just enjoy the show and stop critizing people. Lisa and Stacey look great and I like the show.

  28. Versacelover

I enjoyed the show and will be tuning in next week, can’t wait!

  29. Laurie Davis

I enjoy the show and being a resident of Atlanta I will continue to watch it. Although, I do think there are a few things they need to work on. For one, give Lisa Raye’s character more direction. I am not sure exactly what age these girls are suppose to be playing, but seeing her steal a watch on a video set at her age was pathetic. Also, they need to build more story before pouring everything on us at one time. We know nothing about the white girl and her husband and his poor acting makes me not care at all about them. Futhermore, I love Val and KC, they have the most chemistry of all the couples on the show so far in addition he is one of the best actors on the show. I hope he will stick around as Val goes through her search for the perfect man.
