Following his sold-out stop at Madison Square Garden on Tuesday, legendary musician Prince donated the Harlem Children’s Zone a line of credit of $1 million and $250,000 lines of credit to the Uptown Dance Academy and American Ballet Theatre to help pave the way for the next generation’s artistic geniuses. The lines of credit were issued so that Prince could remain informed of the organizations’ needs.
“A function of our love for the next generation is instilling in them our own hard-fought knowledge,” Prince said. “We can’t wait and see—or only hope for—the future of those coming after us. We must actively take responsibility for ensuring their success.”

Meet Nick Chiles and Denene Millner, a couple who are also co-founders of North Paran, the most comprehensive website for books by and about black people, and whose mission is to get a book in the hands of every child who doesn’t have one. This is amazing, I definitely take my hat off to Prince for giving back in such a BIG way. Props to you Angel and CL for keeping us in the LOOP of more important enriching happenings rather than the latest gossip.
