    Yup

Can I just say that I am a new Dawn fan after listening to this mixtape? I always thought she was just ok…the mixtape has made me a fan. She’s more talented than I thought! That “Bulletproof” song, is like some indie-rock banger to me, but it goes hard!…I always thought maybe she had an inner rocker. She slayed that joint!

She did a great job. I guess this is a reason for me to be a little more open from now on…kinda impressed!

So refreshing.. I never fell in love with anything so fast. Its also crazy how much she reminds me of brandy. I can’t name a favorite yet. This is definitely an album. I probably would’ve bought this had it been on the shelf seriously. Damn solo is the only way for her to go.

FINALLY!! Dawn Richard is an incredible talent. Her voice is wonderfully unique and her writing capabilities are crazy! All of the tracks deserve to be on an album and flow so nicely. I hope we can expect to hear and see more from this beautifal Artist. Well Done Lady!!! You Deserve it!

I agree she got that “it” factor and needs her own shine without Diddy corny lines messing up songs! Cause I swear Last Train to Paris could’ve been something spectacular WITHOUT DIDDY!!!

    HALF AMAZIN

I DIDNT LOVE IT….AND BEFORE ONE OF YOU POP OFF, REMEMBER THE LAST SONG YOU DIDNT LIKE AND HOW YOU VALUED YOUR OWN OPINION.

I THINK THE PRODUCTION SOUNDS GREAT BUT IT SOUNDS LIKE HER VOICE IS COMPETING WITH IT AND IT WON. AS SOON AS I HEARD IT I WAS WISHING BRANDY WAS SINGING. AD-LIBS, RUNS, EVERYTHING ARE GIVING ME FULL MOON/ AFRODISIAC BUT THE WATERED DOWN VERSION. ANOTHER ALBUM, NOT NECESSARILY SIMILAR IN SOUND, BUT THAT GAVE ME THE SAME FEELING WAS SOLANGE’S SECOND ALBUM…COOL PRODUCTION BUT WISHED SOMEONE ELSE WAS SINGING.

I HOPE SHE REALLY HAS THE OPPORTUNITY TO DO SOMETHING MEANINGFUL AS A SOLO ARTIST AND MAKE SOME $ BECAUSE I CRINGE ANYTIME I SEE A NEW OR DEVELOPING ARTIST AROUND DIDDY. SN: SHE LOOKS LIKE KELLY ROWLAND BUT WITH MORE SWAG!

    THANK YOU FOR LISTENING

Excuse me I value your opinion, but this is Dawn not Brandy. This song is NICE. And have you heard her mixtape! It was done beautifully I just can’t stop listening.

    • I get it

I actually agree with you for the most part. I could see Brandy demolishing these tracks and but then there is also beauty in simplicity. The songs I like best are the ones where her voice is effortless (not strained) almost spoken like Bulletproof is a standout and a direction she should definitely think about taking.

    • I guess

I did have those moment of “Brandy would kill that with a run” but I had to stop myself because it’s a problem we have as listeners. People see and hear Dawn and immediately think she has to be a running fool just like her. Dawn is not Brandy. If anything she’s a rough cut real grimey cousin and that’s pretty fab to me.

JUST WONDERIN HOW SHE’S GETTING PAID FROM A “FREE ALBUM”. ARTISTS BARELY MAKE $ SELLING CDS THAT’S WHY THEY TOUR SO MUCH AND LICENSE THEIR NAMES/IMAGE. JUST CALL IT A MIXTAPE! “FREE ALBUM” SOUNDS SO…BLAH….DIDDY-I LOATHE YOU!!

APPARENTLY! Much to my shock. Dirty Money go on tour in April so hopefully she’ll make money off that.

At least no one can say she doesn’t do it purely for the love of music.

    Its a great start

Over all I think it’s pretty damn great for her 1st try. Despite coming from groups you have to take Dawn as ‘a new aspiring’ singer and on that I’m seriously impressed. No big name producers and writers just her and what seems to be a small camp of people who wanted to help. It does serve as notice that she has potential to be something the industry is currently lacking, failing that she has the potential to be a pretty AMAZING writer.

Damn she was #3 trending topic the same night as the Glee opener and the SB game O_O! on her 1st try (which Diddy had to pay for). Get it Dawn! Just a taste of what she can do on her own imagine what it would be with MAJOR backing.

Good work girl I already have some of the songs stuck in my head.

Lol Bad Boy records must have their staff on here making propaganda comments. These two songs are nothing but the normal black female, auto-tuned, “R&B” drivel. Give me a break already with the hyperbole. She’s clearly been put on the path though, so I expect her to “blow up” to some degree. “A Tell Tale Heart” is an allusion to her selling her soul and becoming a devotee to the sun god. The “heart” is a common metaphorical image and terminology used in the entertainment industry because in the occultic systems, the sun is the “heart” of the universe.

Sun you gotta stop this shit! I mean you apply that illuminati shit to EVERYTHING! And don’t get me wrong, my third eyes open but don’t get so caught up you can’t notice the simple things for what they are…lol

A very solid effort I must say! Dawn was my fav DK member and the ONLY reason I bought Last Train to Paris. I love the way she is showing her vocal range and abilities on the album. Although I’m loving this feel good album, I can’t help but notice the overwhelming similarities to Brandy’s style. You can definitely sense the influence. The runs the ad libs and the heavy production def. B- Rocka just a little more street. That’s ok I love it anyway. Go solo Dawn, Go solo!!!

Ok I just got done listening to this mixtape for the first time! I love the sincerity behind what she’s expressing.

She’s a very clever writer. Very well produced, I can play this joint all the way through, can’t find a skip track!

Dope Dawn! I’m really feeling her passion here! The love, the loss, the jubilation! I’m kind of attracted to her now honestly…lol. Damn, did I just say that?! lol

I Love Dawn and I LOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVEEE Brandy! Brandy is the reason why I love Dawn so much. She is bringing the Brandy style to a new generation of people. Brandy is Legend and Dawn’s presence is going to solidify that. I know Dawn is her own artist and that really shines through, but she uses her Brandy influence with a purpose not just to be swagger jacking. I’m rooting for her!

So i peep how Q / Dawn are not supporting each others mixtapes. I wonder if something happened between the two. Not only is that obvious, but he follows her but she no longer follows him on twitter. hmm looks as if there is trouble in paradise.

Over all the mixtape was ok. I was not that impressed. I’ve heard dawn SANG and to me this mix didn’t do much for me. A B at the most.

    GoDawn!!!

I’ve loved Dawn since day ONE. i really hope she gets her shine. I’m not a fan of Diddy, but he definitely rocks with Dawn, that’s why he got rid of those other girls and still has her around. hopefully she’ll release a real album and get some real shine. She’s a great artist, singer, and dancer. She has IT. And she’s looking better than ever.

    Ok

I’ve never been a big fan, but I think it is a decent first effort! If this is what she is capable of with just herself and unknown producers…then she actually has a very good shot! If she had “a machine” behind her, I think she could actually be successful on her own. I wish her luck because there is definitely potential with her. She just needs to get away from Diddy and get with a label that will really invest in and promote her. But I have to say that I admire that she did this on her own without Diddy….it speaks volumes about her character. To me it means she is smarter than lots of people give her credit for. She is trying to make her own name apart from any of the groups she was in and hustling. I have to respect that….good job young girl! and good luck!
