After 18 years and grossing over $411 million worldwide, Warner Brothers has decided to remake the 1992 romantic, box office hit film The Bodyguard. In the original film, Whitney Houston played a musician who hires Kevin Cosner’s character as her bodyguard. According to reports, the remake will have the same story line, but the bodyguard will be a former Iraq war veteran:
The new version is similar, including the love story, but here the bodyguard will be a former Iraq war veteran who gets the job protecting the star as his first gig after leaving the Army. He discovers that the world of Twitter, Google Maps and TMZ has made access to celebrities easier than ever, making the job more difficult than ever. [Source]
It is said that ‘the goal is to take a young female singer with global appeal and give her the platform that The Bodyguard did for Houston.’ Rumor has it that Beyonce, Rihanna or Jennifer Hudson may be considered for the female role.

Check out the teaser trailer for the upcoming sequel to the comedic film The Hangover. The plot follows four friends who travel to Las Vegas for a bachelor party, only to wake up the next morning not remembering a thing and missing the groom, whose wedding is scheduled to occur the next day. Looks like this will be just as funny as the first.
Why are they even remaking this? We are never allowed any classics. They would never consider remaking that old Barbra Striesand movie “The Way We Were”. But they are ready to replace Whitney and it hasn’t even been 25 years!? Ridiculous!
Actually there was talks to remake that movie, just like right now this just talks. I think they orginally wanted Beyonce and Will Smith to do it, then it bacame Brandy/Will Smith then Brandy/Tyrese but you get my point.
Actully Beyonce’ will be shooting the remake A Star is Born with Clint Eastwood directing. So she’ll have her hands full with that. Ole girl is on an Oscar chase and I don’t think The Bodyguard would do it for her.

Beyonce can’t act and she is too hip hop, not classy enough and neither is Ryanna. There is no sensual mystery about either one of these ladies because they let it all hang out on stage and off stage. Jennifer hudson is beautiful and talented but she lacks sensuality. Brandy is the only one of these women that projects the class Whitney did at the time .She is the only black young female out today that you want to see what kind of love scenes she would have with a man because she has been so guarded and child-like, not to mention the fact that she is very beautiful, great pure singer and an amazing actress and she is even sexier than Whitney. To play the bodyguard I think it should be Ryan Gosling or Adrian Brody or Trevor St. John( from soap one life to live)or Tom Pelphrey( also soap and stage star).
I think it should be Rhianna because the fashion would be sick as heck and I think the guy should be the guy who played the human torch in the fantastic four, he is hot, and would rake in money as well, but at the same time, its NOT going to be the ORIGINAL!!!

Listen all who comment on the choice of singer for the re-make version of bodyguard! JHud is by far the best singer and acting ability that would enhance the silver screen as well. If you read on how the producer spoke of her remarkable talent as a first time actor with little or no acting skills, in Dream Girls, He was blown away of how she captivated this craft on acting with little re-takes on the set. She is definately a remarkable singer that can hold her own. with a high range vocals thats not only compare to whitney but would complimant the syle of whitneys voice as a much better singer. Beyonce say can not act nor can she blow know where near the notes that range that JHud has. JHud can sing a ring around beyounce.
listen to beyounce without the syncersizers, and drums and electric piano. she would not pull it off in this remake movie. As far as Rhiana. she is not to good of a singer no acting ability.. JHud is the best women for the job….
I loved Bodyguard and with the passing of Whitney Houston…I hope that Warner Brothers still make a Bodyguard 2. My recommendations would be…Rihanna, Ciara, or Kelly Rowland with Josh Bowman, Channing Tatum, or Josh Duhamel
