Madea jumps into action when her niece, Shirley, receives distressing news about her health. All Shirley wants is to gather her three adult children around her and share the news as a family. But Tammy, Kimberly and Byron are too distracted by their own problems: Tammy can’t manage her unruly children or her broken marriage; Kimberly is gripped with anger and takes it out on her husband; and Byron, after spending two years in jail, is under pressure to deal drugs again. It’s up to Madea, with the help of the equally rambunctious Aunt Bam, to gather the clan together and make things right the only way she knows how: with a lot of tough love, laughter … and the revelation of a long-buried family secret.

I’m actually not a huge Tyler Perry fan but this play was one of the FUNNIEST I have seen and the singing was phenomenal! Hope the movie’s as good.
i think Bowwow plays the guy who the secret will evolve around and Teyana Taylor is going to play the baby mama, im not into TP’s plays but this play was very good.

This trailer didn’t make me want to see this movie in the slightest… haven’t seen the last couple of Tyler’s movies based off his plays bc they began to get a little rediculous, especially the acting
Higher power forbid Tyler perry actually comes up with a idea that requires talented writers and no Cooning. This guy is LITERALY exploiting non intelligent African American women. Apparently Tyler perry thinks the black woman is archaic,immature and incapable of interpreting good movies such as the kings speech or Blue valentine. But 900 million dollars later I guess he is right about you. Sad? Yes. Extremely disappointing? Yes. True? Absolutely yes.
You correlate the level of intelligence with Tyler Perry viewerships. I have to say that this is where you are wrong. TP appeals to many segments of the Black female community. I tend to think that most people who bash this man for producing pure comedy tend to care a lot about how Whites will view them/us. Perhaps people should worry less about what Whites think and just concentrate on what they can do to aid in providing more serious subject matter. TP is ALL COMEDY with a message btw, that’s his genre and he doesn’t have to step out of it either. Stop looking for external validation and focus on internal validation and internal productivity.

I will definently not be going to see this. What happened to the good old black movies of the 90′s? What went wrong? I still watch black 90′s films and classics to this day and I love them, but for some reason our movies suck nowadays.

I like Tyler Perry and I’ve support most of his films (and will down the road), but I’m good on this one.

I like Tyler Perry, because he found a niche market, and made money from it. He also employed black people, so he get’s my vote. Laughing is good for the soul. Remember Flip Wilson, and yes he dressed-up like a women, but he kept us laughing. Yes, there should be more movies made by black people like animations, sci-phi, and history pieces, so people let’s get to writing. I liked The Black Debators, but did black people go see it, no, but they complain about Tyler Perry.

Oh, and sense he does NOT make “Reputable” movies,…..what about “For Colored Girls”? That adaptation was so well-done, I am STILL gob-smacked by the message and its been months since I say it. And HATIN ASS BLACK NEGROS HAD SUMTHIN TO SAY ABOUT THAT!!!! this man took works of poetry by one of OUR most influential poets,and made it PERFECTLY into a movie. The damn movie was simply poetry with moving pictures, thats how well adapted it was. And yall STILL HATED ON THAT! For colored girls was another horrible film and adaption by Tyler perry. You see if you actually had a pragmatic mind instead of a space filled with archaic emotions you would be able to artistically review his work. He is exploiting the fact that you are one tracked.

Your opinion of TP’s adaptation is just that AN OPINION, and does not make it fact simply because you like to bring forth your arrogance.
Artistic interpretation is relative, what you view from an artistic standpoint will differ from how someone else views the same piece. Your “review” is just that, YOURS and you can’t make someone see it the way you do, ESPECIALLY if you tend to start off your responses with arrogance and belittling. You’re what we call high and mighty and perhaps even someone whose self-worth and self-esteem is tethered to a title. High unstable self-esteem, very fragile and very traumatic if sh*it hits the fan.
The trailer isn’t enticing enough to me and is little too busy. I hope he puts out a different trailer. I tend to like TP’s work. Funny guy!
Black people complain too damn much!!!! You complain not enough Black films and tv shows, not enough black people in roles in movie, not enough Black people are not winning film awards. One movie director is bringing out movies and we are still complaining and putting it down!! ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!! Can you do better??? If you want respectable movies, then write to John Singleton, write to Forest Whitaker, write to Spike Lee then, but no Black people won’t, were too damn busy complaining about every little thing!!! TP is the only Black film director is hiring Black people on film as of 2011. So this is the goal BLACK PEOPLE- SUPPORT UR OWN AND STOP COMPLANING EVERY BLASTED THING THAT THIS MAN DOES!!!
