i don’t know what it was above this video what warmed my heart, maybe seeing beautiful brown people in dramatic roles that didn’t involve booty or raining money all over the place. thank you mr. saadiq!

by the way, was that antm’s yaya? she looked great.

Great video, even though the sink part had me like whoa, but that was probably the purpose. Anyway I love this song, I would like to see an interview with Raphael about the concept and story behind it.

And why you gotta find something negative about that girl?..
How do you know if she’s still arrogant dam! She didn’t utter
a flippin word in the vid!..Geesh!

I’m thinking that the vid was about a “Good Man” and them needing cash. She was sleeping with random men for cash
and her man knew it! I am a bit lost as to why she beat herself up to get him locked up tho. But at the end he came and gave her money so that she wouldn’t have to continue to sell her body. That’s what i got from it..

I love this video and I agree that it sure sparkles among the pile of crap filled with booty chaking, Ciroc and dollar bills. In fact, the dollar bill was used in a different way. For those that are lost, I think that this guy is still a good man, regardless of all of the ill stuff that home girl did to him. She cheated, she beat her self up and he was all broken down, but when he got on his feet, he still paid what was owed to her. I also think that it’s open for discussion….that’s why it was so vague.

I wholeheartedly agree Onya. Through all of the heartache and hard working he was doing, she was plotting to murder him, do him dirty and leave him. The sink scene was meant to be dramatic and definitely describes what kind of character she had to do what she did. This video could have turned out entirely different but Mr. Saadiq brought the message home that no matter what the man’s circumstances were or what she had taken him through (getting him arrested for no darn good reason) he didn’t let the situation change his heart. He was still a good man from beginning to the end. But, see now she knows it too. Excellent. Raphael always brings deep, soul seeking music to the helm. I can’t wait until the new album drops.

Exactly. The tears at the end were for two reason: 1. She realized what a good man she had and even though she couldn’t face him when he walked in he still “manned up” and did what he felt was needed. 2. She no longer had to sell herself because of him. Relief coupled with shame. I don’t know, just my opinion. That’s turning the other cheek for real.

    pretty girl

I believe she made him look like a physical abuser because she thought her man wasn’t sh–. She didn’t want to struggle with him anymore. She clearly didn’t have any respect for him anymore because he wasn’t bringing home enough money to pay the bills. I think she took it upon herself to prostitute. I don’t believe he knew she was prostituting. She didn’t believe her man could make enough money to take care of both of them. Despite what she put him through, he still forgave her in the end and gave her the money she needed. She saw her man as a broke brother and she didn’t think he could come through for them. She didn’t think that he was a man but he he really was.
