Take the vocals of singer/rapper Phonte Coleman (on third of rap trio Little Brother) and the hip-hop/r&b-influenced beats of Dutch producer Nicolay, put them together and you have The Foreign Exchange. Check out the latest video for their single, “Authenticity” from their second studio album, Authenticy. The video was directed by Matthew Cherry. It tells a story about unfortunate realness of some ‘exclusive’ relationships. Such a fitting name for this video. Check it out!

Always been of a fan of them. I am from N.C. like them. Glad to see some1 from here doing they thing.
Happy 2011 !! Want a new life this year ??

How do you go from that nice city shot to seeing him .. that wasn’t a nice/smooth transition .. many of the transitions or whatever were like that.
If I hadn’t seen the video I probably would’ve thought he was black.
Not a fan of the song.
The white guy is just an actor…the black guy he bumps into is actually the singer Phonte, i dont get why they went this route with the video, it was fine before….see:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-a6OueWQ0O4 – from their 2nd album ft Darian Brockington
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnqX9mRDxyI – from the 1st album, note phonte raps in this song.
to the original poster, Authenticity is the 3rd Album
HUGE FAN of Foreign Exchange. Been following Phonte since Little Brother and Nicolay just about as long. But…what the hell is this? Phonte only gets a brush on the shoulder while the guy is coming out of the club. That’s who’s singing by the way, Phonte. They don’t think Phonte singing his own song is sexy or something (pause)? Neither Phonte or Nicolay are sex symbols but they make great music and deserve better creative visuals to compliment their great creative music. This video is straight garbage. FOREIGN EXCHANGE FAN FOR LIFE but I’m sayin’. When I see Matthew Cherry I’m punching him straight in the face for being a hack. Authenticy is the best album I’ve heard in a while next to Esperanza’s Chamber Music Society and Roc Marciano’s Marcberg. I just expected more. smfh.
I really like this group..just discovered them the other day…and iM a Fan! good to hear quality R&B music…I appreciate the Fluff too..but its just good to hear something FRESH!
Authenticity actually is their 3rd album. (Connected, Leave It All Behind, Authenticity)
Don’t care too much for this album they have, but loved “Leave it all Behind and Connected.”
Zo! is a really good artist too! Does a lot of collabos with them. Love his “Sunstorm” cd.
I cannot view the music video right now. However I just want to say I enjoy The Foreign Exchange’s songs.
I liked Connected a lot…this album is pretty good as well. The video sucks but what else is new.
