On Sunday morning, around 3:30 am, two men opened fire after a heated argument while attending a black fraternity house party at Youngstown State University. The two men who are now under arrest, shot rounds of bullets into a crowd of party goers, after being kicked out of the Omega Psi Phi house earlier that evening. Eleven people were injured, with most having wound shots in the foot:
Both men were charged with aggravated murder, 11 counts of felony assault and 11 counts of shooting into a residence. Eight of the wounded had been treated and released from Saint Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown, hospital spokesman Tina Creighton told AFP. Three were still in the facility’s care, though she could not confirm their identities or their current conditions. [Source]
Unfortunately, one student by the name of Jamail E. Johnson was killed after receiving numerous gun shot wounds in the lower body and one blow to the head. The 25-year old, college senior was also a member of the Omega Psi Phi chapter at the Ohio university. Apparently, he was simply trying to break the argument up between two groups and was caught in the rain of fire. Our condolences to his family and friends.
