On Monday’s broadcast of The Rush Limbaugh Show, the highest-rated talk radio show in the country, Rush Limbaugh called First Lady Michelle Obama a hypocrite after she reportedly ate “pickled pumpkin salad with arugula and a braised ancho-chile short rib with hominy wild mushrooms and sauteed kale” while on vacation in Vail, Colorado, with daughters Malia and Sasha over the President’s Day weekend.
Limbaugh explained:
Michelle My Belle, minus the husband, took the kids out to Vail on a ski vacation, and they were spotted eating and they were feasting on ribs, ribs that were 1,575 calories per serving with 141 grams of fat per serving. Now I’m sure some of you members of the new castrati: “This is typical of what you do Mr. Limbaugh, you take an isolated, once in a lifetime experience, and try to say that she’s a hypocrite.” She is a hypocrite. Leaders are supposed to be leaders. If we’re supposed to go out and eat nothing — if we’re supposed to eat roots, and berries and tree bark and so show us how. And if it’s supposed to make us fit, if it’s supposed to make us healthier, show us how.
In addition to disrespecting the First Lady by calling her a hypocrite and showing a blatant disregard for “the husband” perhaps better known as the President of the United States Barack Obama, Limbaugh went on to say “our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you”.
He then tried to make it a class issue (although we know what the REAL issue is):
Poor kids are living in food deserts, parents are unemployed, kids got no place to go other than the mall, hang around for scraps at the Orange Julius place, maybe get some papaya juice out there, and then they hear about Michelle My Belle and the kids 1,500 calories per rib serving — 141 grams of fat, I’m just saying. Mom and dad unemployed, kids in the food court hoping for some drips of papaya juice and there they are eating ribs, skiing in Vail.
Regardless of whether you agree with the President’s (or in this case, the First Lady’s) policies, most would agree that you should give them the respect they deserve because of the positions they hold. However, Limbaugh and others like him obviously disagree.
What else is one to eat in Colorado?
They let this racist fat pig say whatever he wants whenever he gets ready. What else is new? If a black radio talk show host made racist comments about Bush he would be fired and never allowed on the radio again.
This is a case of white on black haterade. No matter what she did or did not do, he would find fault with it. He has a problem with black people being in the White House and now vacationing in Vail Colorado! How dare they feast on short ribs, oh my. I must of missed the announcement when the FLOTUS said she was vegan…or on a strict low calorie diet. The majority of people eat meat, and hold your seats, sometimes it’s fried or smothered in sauce, but the average person should also balance it with vegetables and an active lifestyle, which the FLOTUS did and does. She is not overweight, she doesn’t have any underlying diseases (that we know of), and she’s not lazy. She encourages kids to MOVE and be ACTIVE and not eat junk food in place of real food. Ribs may not be the healthiest thing, but if you’re in good health, then a serving of ribs won’t hurt you. If you’re an immobile fatass like Limbaugh, well that serving of ribs may be the one that puts you at the edge for having a stroke or heart attack or something. I don’t understand his connection between what she is eating with poor, hungry kids. He is grasping for straws. Well, all I can say is make sure we remember all the negative comments that came out against Bush when he was Prez. That man was called everything under the sun and disrepected to the nth degree. There are people who are for/against Bush and those for/against Obama but all Presidents should be respected (don’t have to agree with their policies) if only for the office they hold.
