Papa Knowles aka Matthew Knowles shared a bit of inspiration about pursuing your dreams. In this Fox News clip, the 60 year-old father talked about paying attention to the passions of his daughters, Beyonce and Solange, while raising to them. He shared a bit on his personal experience of dealing with racial barriers while growing up as a young African-American male in the 60s and 70s. He ends the clip by stressing the power of not giving up on his American dream as well as that of his daughters. Mr. Knowles goes as far as mentioning Kelly Rowland as one of his daughters. Awww.
“I tell young people, ‘Never give up on your dreams.’ It won’t happen the first time. Even Destiny’s Child, they got dropped by a major record label before they got signed. I just think that one of the things we always have to remember is that it’s not always going to be perfection. I think that if we realize that and we work towards a common goal, inside of negativity often is an opportunity. It’s the great thing about change as we discuss change in America.”

Saw this last night it was nice. I wonder when this was taped and yes, it was nice and right of him to consider Kelly his daughter, she DID grow up with Beyonce so that was a nice gesture. Beyonce looks so much like Tina especially in Tina’s younger days. Such a beautiful family..

Beyoncé & her father are indeed some American dream. She dreamed about being a singer & he dreamed about her success. You can say whatever you want but Matthew Knowles did the damn job as a father, without this man, no Beyoncé. I mean, I give props, he made sacrifices, he left his high profile job and sold his house because of his belief in a group of 9 years old singing girls. Honestly, not a lot of fathers would pursue their daughter’s dream. As a manager, DC is the most successful female group of all time, hits after hits and they made it in less than 10 years! Every member of Destiny’s Child is still not only wealthy but active today. As group members or solo singers, they remain beautiful, well educated, respectful, hard workers & themselves, still make quality music also. We all know who Beyoncé the empire is and what is her place in the music industry as of today. Hell even Solange is a singer and actress and is about to be a fashion icon why not? I mean, I dont get why he gets sometimes the hate. Thank you Matty.

I don’t find this heartfelt because Matthew did nothing for Kelly’s music career. I’m surprised he even mentioned her as his daughter because for the longest time, I kept on asking why he was not giving her the same treatment as he did with Beyonce when he and Tina temporarily adopted her. I never even heard Matthew admit that she was his daughter until now.

Matt Knowles didn’t give a rat’s ass about Kelly or Michelle, they were on the sidelines while Beyonce got all the spotlight. Beyonce is just like her father, she will step on anybody to take her fake ass to the top. Stealing people’s songs and wearing leotards, who the f*** wears leotards all the time. There are so many talented singers out there…Solange is so original and I really like her music. Beyonce is OVERRATED!

A lot of you have me dying laughing, when discussing this man’s infidelity. However, let’s try to stay focused on the positive message he wants to get across. Mr. Knowles isn’t perfect and during his 60 years I’m sure he’s made alot of mistakes, he’s human. We all make mistakes, no one, I repeat no one is perfect, or without flaw. It’s not up to any of us to pass judgement on this man. He’s not our father, husband, brother, or whatever. If Mrs. Knowles is fine with it, then I love it. Let’s just concentrate on the underlining message of an African American family rise of fortune and love, that helps show our community that with consistant drive and determination, anything is possible.
LOVE Mathew and his business acrumen. I opened my first business based on his blueprint and he based his on Berry Gordy’s. Like him or love him he definitely taught me how to get that FUCK YOU money!
